Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

I got laid off in October, 2015, and I still check this site from time to time...

It looks like things are the same (or probably much worse) when compared to when I was kicked out. At the beginning for me it was total chaos (the worst Holidays of my entire life - as well as for my family), but once I got a great job this past February, I got my life back... My entire career was with HP/HPE. I'm currently working in IT in the Banking Industry, and I have to say the change has been dramatic - in a positive way, of course! If you haven't started yet, I would recommend that you take seriously (very seriously) the task of looking for another job. Don't do a passive search. Act like if you were WFR'ed today, and only have $100 in your Bank account. Nothing like chaos to trigger urgency, creativity and focus. Good luck, guys... Yes, there's life after HPE... And no... There is no way in the world I will ever buy an HP/HPE branded product for me or my family ever again.... The Christmas presents for my kids this year will involve new IT equipment on everything (laptops, tablets, printers, etc.), and I'll enjoy showing my middle finger to you know which products...

Spot on. When they eventually boot me out I won't be buying HP kit for personal use and I wont be advocating HPE/CSC services for any future employer.

Sh-- Company to work for.

I hear you, bro. Years ago, I bought HP products for their quality, and as my way to show loyalty to the Company. Nowadays, our competitors have the same or better quality on their products, at a lower cost... Then, on the other hand, if the Company is not loyal to me... Why should I be loyal to it? I just bought an Epson printer for personal use this past weekend, and I'm planning buying an inexpensive laptop pretty soon. The only reason I might end up buying an HP one is because of the "easy-payments" on QVC. If not, for sure it would probably be any other brand... My cousin owns a small business, and asked me about entry level HPE servers.... I told him... Don't even think about it... The support is legendary bad, and you can get better specs out there at a lower price... Take that, HP and HPE... The more people you kick out, the more people you'll have advocating for your competitors. Some might believe that people like me don't make a single dent to the Company, but when you have 80,000 like me, and multiply that by family members and friends... Well... No wonder why revenues are declining....
