Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Time

Maybe it's "time" to layoff all of the LA folks. They don't want to work. We never had an issue with our fine Mobility team members in Seattle. Never! They are excellent team players. Good employees and worked with us in Atlanta. They come in early and always adapted. Then the head honcho VP finally issued a memo talking about respecting "Time". We all know East & Central Time Zones drive American business. But the LA space cadets are a lazy bunch of employees. They hate to work. Never any good ideas. They stroll in half way through our day and then have the audacity to want to schedule 5 PM Eastern calls. That's not going to happen. In the lobby during just one day here in Atlanta got hundreds of signatures and sent to HR. Then miraculously out comes a message to respect "time". Good grief. The part-time employees in El Segundo are the slowest Mobility learners and the worst team players.

Bad Service and Quality - AT&T got a JD Power Award :)

It seems a better idea to start dumping all the inefficient, whinging, legacy T employees who seem to think that the world owes them a favor.

The LA employees helped make DTV the industry leader in pay-TV service, quality, customer loyalty, and reputation. They proved themselves to be agile, innovative, and (most important) the company was loyal to the employees.

Meanwhile, the AT&T guys have their mobility which consistently gets slammed for bad quality, service, and customer support.

Time to take out the T-Trash! Say goodnight, Atlanta losers!

Agree OP. This manager and peer I work with in LA complained to me she couldn't drive and take a conference call before 9 AM PST. She is a total airhead. They really are lazy and totally incompetent when it comes to understanding Mobility and having any sense of urgency at all. At least at Peachtree we get it.

So are you an employee of a contractor? You sound clueless. Verizon dumped people also. Wake up.

Wait ... so let me get this straight. The OP, an east coast T-hole, is bent out of shape because sometimes meetings get scheduled for late in the day EST. But I'm sure this douchenozzle T-bag doesn't have any problem with setting early morning meetings that might happen before 7 or 8AM on the west coast, right?

This is exactly the sort of nonsense we've been getting from the T people since the merger. It's like they now have a new thing to blame for their own incompetence, mistakes, and crappy culture.

The sad thing is most of the AT&T people I've started to work with have been really great and there's been a genuine attempt on both sides to understand how things work and how to best integrate processes, products, cultures, and styles. But then along comes a nitwit like the OP to just ruin the progress.

@IWnfTPz Nice sweeping comments from a knucklehead T employee. Explain why you don't deserve a surplus notice!

I'm willing to bet that for the folks based in Atlanta and Dallas, their waist sizes are bigger than their IQs.

Randall's probably amused reading this. This "us" vs. "them" is stupid and it's only a dysfunctional culture that would allow people to be played against each other. (I'm on the east coast and a legacy wireless employee btw).

Let's not forget that the dtv deal is helping to prop the stock price up and obviously those folks did something right. Why not look for "synergies" and find the best of each org culturally ( though we might be hard pressed to find good culture at old t- but at least try.)

Ok so the LA employees here are tired of the push push of management. We need to take breaks to clear our heads and be able to deal with stupid customers. We don't give a dam about the other coast and ATT should hire people to deal with the time difference. 5Pm here is time to go and party not wait for idiots in other parts of the country to call. The folks in my center are mostly under 32 and we have a different work mentality. don't like it? tough go get a job dealing with old fogies from the Midwest or east coast. We work hard when we are here. Getting in a bit late never bothered the boss so give it up.

Cool story, bro! I can see from your post that the non-LA employees are by far the nicest, most understanding, and cooperative there are.

You're a credit to your region. And your rational, even-tempered, and inclusive comment here says more about you than you will likely every realize.

Reviews are meant for successful careers, My reviewer, a white Female, with no college degree, divorced, and bipolar, and ...boy she can talk, at the end she supports no one, while accomplished professionals are leaving this company for obvious reasons.....

Worry about yourself no amount of hard work is going to save anyone when T decides it doesn't need or want you anymore.

And the company continues to layoff employees with excellent performance reviews, completed 2020 training and 15 to 20 years of experience. Makes so sense! But hey you have a CEO and Executives lining their pockets with millions of dollars while placing thousands of long term good U.S.A. workers on state unemployment and losing out On their pension. That's good leadership right there.
