This should read someting like, "Verizon sold its cash producing properties to Frontier to get rid of the unions at Verizon." Lowell and Fran are wireless types who it seems never really embraced the principles of what a communications company does, which is why they hate the unions and have little grasp of how to meet the customer's communication needs. These two 'rock stars' are more interested in pocketing as much of the shareholders cash as they can, and get on TV as often as possible. The are narcicists on a mission of self.

Fact check: Landline operations do not generate positive cash flow- it s---s out cash. The more you install, the more cash you need to feed it and maintain it. That is why VZ does not want it. NY Metro really is the most horrendous. It wasn't too hard to find a buyer for the attractive FiOS franchises (Fl, CA, TX)

This comment was spot on. There wasn't a whole lot of difference between the fGTE / Ex Con union and non union employees. They worked quite well with one another.
Yet another post by a angry sad disgruntled non-Union Verizon worker bee, that get bent over and is taking it up the ole wazoo each and every long hour worker bee day.
If a company can't make it work with paying their employees a good wage with good benefits, they don't deserve to make it.

Verizon does not want landline, period. The NE has expensive labor and sluggish growth which makes it more challenging to sell to strategic buyers. Verizon sold Iusacell for about two cents, so they know how to unload assets they no longer want. They may need a little time to regroup, but this operation will go.
Ignorant uninformed comment. The union in the 3 States were very mild when compared to the north. Florida is a right to work State so unions do not have the same impact to the business like the north. The same can be said about Texas. The company is looking to consolidate and strategically it made sense. Florida was profitable as the fiber is built out. The issue was that Texas isn't so you sweeten the pot by throwing in Fl. Frontier has a horrible service records at the moment after the sale. Interacting with overseas people that will bring down your service faster when fixing simple things on the account.
Correction: Verizon sold to Frontier to get rid of all their workers.
