Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

When will the axe come down on Indirect/Authorized Retail for good?

Will Indirect Authorized Retail support end on 09.15.2016? 11.15.2016? 04.01.2017? No reasons for these jobs anymore. NR is a joke. AEs leaving in other markets I heard. Some idiot AEs working super hard to get promoted. Good luck with that one especially the token old ones they had to keep for legal reasons.

OT?? Seriously? I know so many AE/RAEs who sit home half the week, doing nothing but collecting a paycheck. Never answer their phones when stores call them, of course, there are some great ones, but it's the lazy ones who give everyone a bad name....

Does anyone think the new salary laws for Overtime (OT) exempt employees will impact final surplus dates?

December 1, 2016, the federal law requires employers to pay OT if the salary is less than $47,476.

Unless they shift to hourly pay for AEs, like they did in California, they may just want eliminate all AEs nationally vs bumping/logging OT.

Writing is on the wall . . . Timelines for surplus procedures suggests 10/1/2016 or before.

Just a hunch.

There is not really any focus now on NR as we have so many doors its more of a compliance thing than a relationship building visit. Staff is spread way too thin so I would imagine there will be another surplus soon so they can start on the new direction.

I'd say the hack is coming first Qtr of 2017, that makes the most sense. they'll wait 6 months. But at at&t don't expect anything to make sense. The DTV deal has them sh--ting bricks. AE's get less than zero respect from at&t, the job is begging to be handed over to a 3rd party company for $10-12hr. Authorized Retailers are being empowered with bill credits and soon they'll have an 800 number for deposit waviers. POOF, RAE gone. National Retailers couldn't care less about RAEs unless they're a hot chick with a nice a--.

Has to be sooner rather than later if they hope to have a new 3rd party company in place for the holidays. It is not a rumor and just a matter of time. Really disappointing that they choose this route and have affected so many people and their families.
