Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

A lot of chatter regarding a RIF 6/30 and hearing a possible EISP. Any truth to this?

note

If there is one, with the 30 day notice, you would be gone by the end of July.

I am in VES (left behind IT guy), our director said NO RIFs at this time.

(of course, things can change)

I got rif notification on November 5 and my last day on payroll was December 31st. I think the WARN times vary by state. I am in Ohio.

NO Truth to this...You would have to have been notified 30 days ago to be RIF'd Jun.30 OR On June 30 may be the initial notice and off payroll 7/30...

I heard many techs were hired in the summer and fall of 1990 and a 4 and 4 will be offered to anyone who wants to go.

Have not heard anything out here in the Pacific Market. But I certainly know Verizon is very good about being sneaky about RIF's.

Everyone here is still reeling from what happened in October 2015 and feels more is on the way, just don't know the timing. Company owned stores business has slowed dramatically and I feel Q2 earnings will miss targets.

I still see redundancies and people with not enough to do. That combines with little to no growth for Verizon in the foreseeable future and it doesn't look good.

Be ready with an updated resume and Linked Profile is all one can do.
