Productivity is measured and people get disciplined for their failure to meet the numbers. Yes, this is on the union side of the street and has been in effect since at least 2005...

Nope. I certainly hope that we get to stay out through Labor Day. I'm finally getting to enjoy the time with my kids which is something I haven't been able to do over the past couple of years.

There in lies the problem. There are a number of union employees who need to be Rif'd and we all know this. In almost every shop 15% of the head count does 90% of the work. This is why there are such ridiculous rules on time tracking. They are not there because of the top performers but instead because of all the folks that are equally productive when they are out of the office. It is extremely unfair that the productive minority in the Union has to suffer the same impact as all those that contribute little to nothing.
The first few days of the strike - the lemmings were wearing sandwich boards that proclaimed "Managers wont give us a raise" - then suddenly "OH it isn't about the money" we can't make that fly with the American public with what we get paid Be honest - it is about money. Vz's money that you want. NO ONE had job security. Do your job well and you will be employed. Period. Be a union slug that does the bare minimum and reap those rewards....
Nope not yet...I never get overtime so this can go on indefinitely far as I care...I am rolling in the dough and having fun...the people are great and the work is getting done...why...cuz they come to work!...
One day longer, one day stronger EWAer! The strike doesn't dictate how long you will be away...the turnstile with contractors does. Despite a couple of incidents most of them have skill and are experienced in these jobs, and have been laid off in the last few years for the same reason VZ isn't negotiating...it's a horse and buggy industry. Call center/OCO/MCO jobs are pretty easy to replace and can be done from anywhere, and the field jobs are being filled.

it does not matter at all. What wireline makes is important.
Wireline is about 7% of profits.

It's not, I think its Great as a matter of fact. So what's wrong with sticking together, and not getting rif'd by a company you worked to get those profits, and your kicked to the curb to make some number. Not if you Union your not.
One more thing for all the EWA's our contract forbids what's happening to you right now. Think about it.

Nope I'm Union, and Yes I can see that you company folks have had enough, But I'm sorry I just cant go back under this Leaderships oppressive demands. We gave in 2011, and there is absolutely no way in hell I'm giving back to a company making 1.5 BILLION DOLLARS A MONTH!
You company folks should start putting pressure on from inside. But we're not coming back.
