Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I agree with Op, we in Pa have a supervisor who suspends for just about anything, we had a guy retiring in 30 days and got suspended for the last 3 weeks of his time, I think the union needs to do something about the harassment, it just isn't bad workers, or low life, they would fire their mother if she slipped up.

wow so now the union is equivalent to pro football players? I guess it makes sense... they're overpaid too.

Would you pay top dollar to watch scab football? hell no so why do people / customers pay the same top dollar for replacement workers? The replacement workers are not nearly as detailed as the union professionals. I switched but Verizon should immediately invoke a cost savings to the customers until the union contracts are resolved. And yes most of you accountant will scoff at the notion but that's why you are Accountants and not Operations.

When a company makes 1.8 billion per month they should first give something back to the customer for the over charging, and or then reward the employee for sharing in the hard work, and never should they outsource the work to any other economy than the American Economy... It is an accountant shell game but big execs. are getting caught at the game and the public is unhappily aware... bye bye profits...

Union employees are EXPENSIVE. For Verizon to get their money’s worth out of them, they need them to be PRODUCTIVE. The union workers have a history of finding ways to get out of work. The easiest was to counter this is to micromanage and punish.

A culture of laziness, and greed has resulted in a culture of micromanagement and punishment.

@OP you're just mad that the company is starting to expect you to actually WORK. I know that word scares all of the union idiots. But it's high time the company started to watch you closer and expect you to actually do something other than eat donuts, drink coffee, and blow your buddies in the truck all day. You get upset that you have to actually work, so you go on strike. Put your apron back on pansy, and go clean the kitchen. When your wife gets home tonight from having to go out and work to support your family (because her loser of a husband won't!) she's going to be tired and ready for a hot meal of spam and pork & beans. Get to work buttercup!

So you've been with the company for 30 years and throughout, been complaining... how about you just f---ing leave then?

If your anger is over (a)the loss of US jobs to outsourcing, (b)the loss of US jobs to automation and (c)the effects of population growth, then yes - we understand your anger.

Your strategy for doing something about your anger is confusing and it seems to have left you in a poor, worst position.
