"The work is no more complicated, so benchmarking is needed. "

Benchmarking has been in place for well over a decade. Where have you been? As for work complexity, your statement speaks volumes of how ignorant you are in differences between the two industries.

"a situation where the force level exceeds the work load. "

Right. Which is exactly why most of us have seen a ton of forced overtime over the past two years.

"The old copper guys need to be the first ones to take a hike."

LOL. There's no such thing as "old copper guys" anymore. Everyone has been FiOS trained. Once again, where have you been?

Wages and benefits for Verizon Techs should be no higher than other comparable positions at competitors like Cablevision, Charter and Comcast. The work is no more complicated, so benchmarking is needed. In addition, VZ has a stranded workforce, a situation where the force level exceeds the work load. The old copper guys need to be the first ones to take a hike.

You all have the collective IQ of a functional retard. You don't know what you're talking about.

No, I am not Lowell. I am one of the people that are very surprised when I see CWA associates picketing near VZW. Many of these members, sadly, are the bottom of the barrel. They should be thankful they can be employed. Sorry for the bad review, but these folks need to clean up a bit.

The union is no longer relevant. No one cares if they are on strike, there are other competitors to choose from. This is very different from when the baby bells had a monopoly on copper access lines. No longer the case, need 50% of the tech workforce, but they need to work effectively, not sleeping in the back of the truck.
