"The CWA earns more than teachers, police officers and most healthcare professionals. "

Which parallel universe are you getting this warped data from?

"Technology is making their jobs obsolete. "

OK, let's see: the rest of the world is laying fiber left right and center, but it has already become obsolete in the U.S. thanks to the vision of Lowell McAdam.

"They are being offered 8% now by Verizon. That is a small fortune to most people. "

All of which will be eaten by - and easily surpassed - increases in healthcare premiums, added deductibles etc.

"They should have gone to college if they don't like being tecnicians! "

Thousands of striking members hold a plethora of college degrees, including advanced ones. We have chosen to be technicians for various reasons that are not for you to understand.

"but the technicians will never, ever, ever be able to go to school and get a degree in finance/computer science. "

LOL. What are you smoking? I want none of it...

" I hope they keep whining until the UNION is DISBANDED, like AT&T did. They have been hiring non-union people to do these technical jobs."

Wait what? AT&T is far more unionized than VZ ever was. Including their wireless side.

Whatever it is that you're inhaling/ingesting, please stop. You're clearly hallucinating and will OD sometime very soon. It's not worth it.

@efn - "Corporate executives can do the technicians jobs" hahahahaha, now that's a good one! They couldn't handle getting their hands dirty, im pretty sure they couldn't pee without needing a handler. Oh so funny. I can really picture Lowell climbing a pole...hahaha!

How many college grads saddled with 10's of thousands in student loan debt are now being replaced by H1B's. Six months ago there was a plethora of people whining about that issue in particular on this site.

The CWA earns more than teachers, police officers and most healthcare professionals. Technology is making their jobs obsolete. They are being offered 8% now by Verizon. That is a small fortune to most people. The CWA/IBEW has a 401K and a pension. They need to go back to work and stop whining about corporate CEO's. They should have gone to college if they don't like being tecnicians! The funniest part to me is the Corporate executives can do the technicians jobs, but the technicians will never, ever, ever be able to go to school and get a degree in finance/computer science. I hope they keep whining until the UNION is DISBANDED, like AT&T did. They have been hiring non-union people to do these technical jobs. PLEASE CWA/IBEW KEEP WHINING yourselves into not having a JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, what happened to the gag order? Seems weird to me. Is it possible a deal is reached already and Shelton is getting ready to sell it to his members? Could this have been his opening salvo?

Sounds like he was taking about TPP and fighting back against the billionaire class to me, not when we are actually coming back to work.

It's a political message… January 2017 is when the new president will take office and he's clearly politicking for the Dems.
