Company and union will continue negotiations while we go back. They are close to a deal so that is why Union agreed to this. Gonna be a 5 yr deal retro to end of this one. There will be healthcare increases and pension freeze at 30 yrs. company can force move any employee hired after 1996 one time only within the first 2 yrs of contract. after that company can only force employee out of town to work once every 12 months. There will be a 5 grand signing bonus. There is a possible enhanced ip and 6 and 6 at companies option. There is 8% raise over life of contract. It's a media blackout so this was only information I got right now stay strong

I'm not. Oregon had FiOS at the time of sale, as did a piece of PA that went to Frontier. I'm sure there's more than that, but this is just off the top off my head.
Having said that, it's beyond obvious that the current upper management has zero interest in expanding FiOS on any serious scale. That I agree with 10001%.

Your statement is not really correct. Ivan dumped wireline states, including Maine, VT, New Hampshire to Fairpoint. Then, another 11 or so ILECs were sold to Frontier. More recently, the first sales of FiOS franchises were consummated. Don't confuse ILEC disposals with the sale of FIOS franchises. FiOS sales signal that they are not worthwhile to VZ, so expect more disposals. Sorry if this wAs not clear.

I don't think that decision makers, such as VZ Exec John S, really care that the associates are on strike. These are wireless oriented leaders that don't see a future for wireline. If they sold 3 franchises already, you know what they think if FiOS.
Given how little work each union person does, and the fact that they contribute very little to the overall performance of the company, I say take any raises off the table. Additionally, make the union cover half their healthcare costs. That's still more than what the scum are worth.

Please don't give in to these Union scum spoiled brats. 5k bonus should go to the EWA workers forced to leave their homes and families, not to these overpaid babies.

I'm on the management side of things and what is funny is that this post actually sounds like a lot of the rumors we have been hearing around our CO. The only one that is new is the 6 and 6. But that actually fits in.
To be honest.... I wouldn't be surprised if this was actually closer to the actual truth then what some might think.
