Mark My Words Thread - Verizon Strike

Let’s use this thread to make predictions on how the strike will end. Do your paragraph, outline the outcome and the system will time stamp it. We’ll circle back and come back to the thread once the things play out. Make sure NOT to leave the NAME field as Anonymous, enter some kind of name so you can brag or be ridiculed once the outcome becomes apparent. Good luck…

The company stands it ground. Union is forced to return or retreat. The company has a long term agenda and another strike or contract negotiations are not in that plan.

OK, let's play...

Scenario # 1: we are pushed to return back to work next week (W/E 06/04) in which case the company has won big time and we have lost just about everything. And I mean everything.

Scenario # 2: strike lasts throughout the summer and ends before the rain season. The company retracts the "movement of work" and job security requests. The union caves in on healthcare costs, pension cap, contracting and company's ability to offer EIPP as often as they deem fit.

If the contract is a two-year deal, the next one will be negotiated with Frontier and not Verizon.

If the contract is three years or more, that's the last contract any of us will ever get to see in this line of work from VZ.

It will end like all Verizon Strikes end, company will likely take back as much as they possible can, Union will get token movement. Then the Union will declare a great victory and point to some bs article that they 'won' in the new agreement.

Next you will vote out your senior leadership and then repeat the same exercise in 2 years. Company takes another chunk out of xyz, charges you more for healthcare............... Then in 2 years.....

It will end in the first couple of weeks in September - after labor day. Not sure how the settlement will be (who gets what) - but the union will return after labor day.

The prophecy states that the Strike will be over after an EWA worker and Union Member mate and give birth to the first FIO-Toad. This FIO-Toad will watch from the comfort of a nicely decorated union provided home. One day he will create the 10G-NET-NET which will truly remove all wiring needed to stream video and make totally random postings. The catch, we all die from new forms of microwave radiation poisoning. SOMETIMES I WISH I COULD SPELL BETTER TO USE BIGGER WORDS.

Those crazy bastards will throw a curve ball and call union back to work on a Wednesday. Just to make some of them miss church.

The contract will be the LBFO with just enough tweaks and changes to allow the union to claim victory. They will sell it like ice water in hell.

The union will see thru it because, let's face it, most of you suckers thrive on negative. They will gripe about it for months on end to each other but never admit to non-union that they were sold down the river.

Non-union will come back and get a slap on the back, a handshake and a pink slip. Massive rif's will occur (RIF not RIF and certainly not RIFT((It stands for reduction in force)))

In the end, the CEO will still be dirty rich. Americans will still continue to pay for their service even knowing that they are putting the economy in the crapper.

The world will be the same place as it is now because too many people are too ignorant to understand that the repeat politicians that keep getting reelected are as dirty as the Nile river.

You fought a good fight. Just did so with the wrong people. You can't ask the rich to stop being greedy. But you can sure force them.

40,000 union members tell 10 people to tell 10 others and so on....change can happen. And it will, but not until we wake up and open our eyes collectively.

Vote Trump this fall. Yes he's and assclown but he is the ONLY shot we have at shaking up a dirty and corrupt system. Clinton is by definition, the reason these jobs are going overseas. Make it stop before there's nothing left to stop.
