Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Hey Union members..

The success of the ewa teams deployed are proof that your entry level positions that you've covered for 20+ years are replaceable. Your Union only cares about your dues and not you.

Follow the money because you've all been duped by union leadership.

EWA's are you tube stars showing off their problem solving skills to the nation. They tout that craft jobs are for monkeys while demonstrating for the camera the complete opposite. Watching these video would explain the poor performance of the individuals at their old positions. When they return to those jobs, they will likely be RIF'd.

Yes EWAers have something to be proud of. We have had a Noah strike (rained for 40 days and 40 nights) yet most states are caught up or under control maintenance wise. No disasters but if we are here long enough we will get through that too so smile. Its been hard but our preseverance is paying off. I heard today as I drove in from the fat guy holding a sign " Go make my money" Its not your money now you left. In all actuality, we want you to come back. We really do but quit talking about how this strike has been a disaster for Verizon. Bottom line is, it hasnt. It hasnt been perfect but its pretty far from a complete failure you all lthink it is. Good luck to all

Why such hate? Because the union ALWAYS throws shade and always does it first. This has been going on for decades. Remember Hoffa. A union is really nothing more than a paid membership into the mafia. Real human beings don't curse and spit at those with a differing opinion or those that are forced to work in their place. There hasn't been an original thought in all these messages and tweets and FB posts - just more of regurgitated union dribble. It is quite sad.

It's ok guys, I'm not out on ewa. But I was taking a sh-- earlier when I posted this from my phone.

The unions of of did great things for the country and for workers. Now, however, unions are a business. They do not function like the old unions where members were dying and being injured due to corporate negligence.

Well, gotta get back to work now. Break time is over.

Remember your sunscreen this week while walking in circles, it'll be a hot one.

Seeing ewa's hiding in parking lots, locking themselves out of vehicles, 2/3 of them trying to figure out the trbl. Take my dues union, I'll be back fixing all that has been botched by ewa's & scabs. Save ur OT $. RIF in Sept. I'll be splicing new fiber in Boston.

I am not sure why people are against union employees. It is worth picking up a history book on the labor movements in the USA. Without the unions, nonunion employees would be working 90 hour weeks for pennies a hour. There is no reason to hate working people Union or nonunion. I am not Union and I research the facts and make my own decisions rather than believing the rhetoric of others.

why so much hate? i think your affraid you will be next to be let go, but forever.. no union, your on your own. that must feel real good. by the way, are you doing all this hate stuff from your company computer and on the company time??? you must be real important to the company.. keep up the good work hateing. sheep (baaaaaaaa). god bless the unions in this country, and god bless the middle class. think about this, all you non union workers that work for a hugh company like verizon owe all the furture workers in the world an appoligy for bring down the middle class. keep the kool aid coming. the upper management is loveing all your ripping apart the middle class.

Ooh lots if butthurt in here today. It's interesting that from outside the company the only things you guys "know" are rumors and 3rd party news. In reality things are much better than what you guys are hearing.

Keep with the kool-aid though. At least you're all drinking the same flavor.

Contractors? more? Keep throwing sh-- at the wall and see what sticks. Throwing more money at a problem doesn't mean things are getting better.

Your definition of success must be different than mine. They aren't doing installs. Just trying to keep their heads above water with troubles. It takes 4 scabs to do the job of one experienced tech. Constant complaints that it's taking numerous trips to fix the original trouble ticket. But you keep patting yourself on the back there buddy.

@xcq At the rate contractors are being deployed, EWAers will be mostly home in 30 days and you will be left wondering what happened.

If by success you mean utter failure then I'm not worried about being replaced.
