Any updates here, there are thousands of people working in Illinois but I see no messages here about Chicago and other locations. Anyone has more info?

Frontier managers did a tour in the CO's in the Midwest states. We asked why and were told they were just looking around and wanted to see a CO' almost nobody believed that bull. One of the guys called a technician he knew in Connecticut and the same thing happened there about 1 year before the sale.

Ok so here is a reply from a tech in CT now working for Frontier. Before Frontier purchased the state the work dropped bigtime. It was almost like the company was pushing work away. We had suspicions some work was being done by contractors and found out it was.
so don't think the low work is a deterrent rather a tactic to keep it looking like no one would want the region.
Frontier is not a bad company and allows the technicians to actually fix problems without time limits.
Fix it right the first time. Remember the old days?
Frontier does have deep pockets and the ability to get money for purchases does not stop them. The paid Verizon 8.6 billion , yes billion for wireline including FIOS ( same as U-Verse) .
They are not a small little company without investors.
ATT Is looking to dump wireline and guess who is next. the people in Connecticut thought the same and found out the hard way.

Strangely, no new purge of the splicers and center techs announced. Told by a Southern Ill co tech that orders are as scarce as hens teeth and project work has been halted mid stream. No work for prem techs means they are sent home without the pay regular techs get in their contract. Im not so sure that Frontier has the deep pockets to buy. Looking ain't buying. We shall see.
There was a very quiet tour of CO's in lower Illinois and Ohio by people who declined to be identified by the managers giving the tour. One had a Frontier company badge and was asked to remove it by someone. We cannot get a straight answer from anyone on what they were doing here.
Look around. Layoffs are coming to your town soon. The company is moving to wireless only very soon and based on what happened in Connecticut ( people did not think it would hit them ) with 4986 employees. ATT sold the region to Frontier and only moved 2700 to Frontier. The remaining thought they were safe. Within months the quiet ( very quiet) surplus started. Connecticut is down to a little over 600 original ATT employees and soon to be even lower.
Verizon is doing the same thing. The sold the north east wireline to Frontier and just a short while ago sold Florida, Texas and California to Frontier. ( Verizon was the dominate telco in Texas)
ATT will not be far behind. Texas may be last but it will go. Frontier has operations in 26 states and has expectations to pick up more ATT states. Both Verizon and ATT will continue to drop wireline and Verizon is very close to completion. ATT will move quicker but some states require public hearings and they already had them in Florida and Georgia. As hard as it seems to swallow, the Midwest is next and it will be quick when announced.
