Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

For the upcoming layoffs does anybody know if that would impact any Directv call center csr's in the retention dept.

"I think they are using attrition to get the DTV sites headcount down." Borrowing this quote from above.

One Merriam-Webster definition of attrition:

the act or process of weakening and gradually defeating an enemy through constant attacks and continued pressure over a long period of time.

Yes, this sounds quite accurate. :/

I personally believe all dtv and att will be let go. It's just a matter of time. All of our jobs will eventually be overseas. They are already working toward doing that.

Missoula just opened a req for 50 CSRs with a new call type "CST" but will be considered upgrades. Not sure what the intent of a new call type that is basically a technical answer to CRT, whose calls were handled by either CRT or Case Management. Case at Missoula is dwindling as well. Something more is up...

Is this part of the merging of "stop the bleeding" call types? Will you be moved to a new call type or are you out the door?

They just told a whole department that our department is being cut and they are making a new call type for us. That department is case management in tulsa

I think they are using attrition to get the DTV sites headcount down. Most sites have been bleeding CSRs for months. So what they are doing by getting rid of TLs and TMs is getting the ratios better for the reduced headcount.

I would expect CSR cuts in the DTV sites eventually, but not yet.
