You do realize that the union trolls are making all these predictions (May 20, June 1, Jun 20) as a psychological measure to keep people from crossing. If the many members who are just hanging on knew how long this is going to be yet, they would cross. The union knows this so they keep them thinking if they can only hold out a few more days, then another few more days, and it goes on and on. This may go through the end of the year, so plan accordingly.

The smart union members recognize the writing on the wall. The sheep follow blindly.
"2/3 of big companies all send their work over seas. Verizon is just doing what everyone else is."
I'll make sure to refer your FiOS trouble ticket to a Japanese field technician, to be dispatched out immediately...
"Do u drive a car made in Japan ? I bet"
Well, that's a tough one. How do you classify a vehicle with a German engine, Japanese transmission and an American chassis/shell? The title states it's a Ford...
@ziy tl;dr
What a jackass, you must be upper management. Do you really think that was a statement to debate. If i were one of the workers coming back i would f--- verizon over every single day at work just for the dumb sh-- they just pulled on this contract... screw verizon in every way you can... dam shame those idiots couldn't play nice, but this is the culture they wanted and they have now got it... Remember this is the work of those GTE a--holes that decided to sell off the public utility know as Bell Atlantic. And hey you first line supervisors and managers your heads will all be on the chopping block when the real work force comes back, and for all you by standers most of then idiot first line supers and managers do not have a formal education, most have a high school diploma and make 100k that's how they keep them going and doing and saying stupid sh-- like the comments before mine. you and i both know they would never make that kind of money elsewhere... any proud company interested in the customer would have never allowed this kind of contract negotiation. who cares they certainly dont so neither do I...
The union management makes the same money as the striking union members, they all get 300 per week, no its not much but combined with the health care from the union its just enough (and you should be prepared). Verizon upper management is a laughing stock from other organizations and soon because it takes time but Verizon, will loose their customer base and labeled as Anti American. Management cant survive doing this sh-- work that the union guys do everyday, I sold all my stock and rid Verizon as my cell carrier and have antenna television as a precaution last August and its been better without them. I wish they would sell off the mid Atlantic to anyone but these jackholes, but they wont because its profitable and they know it.
2/3 of big companies all send their work over seas. Verizon is just doing what everyone else is. Do u drive a car made in Japan ? I bet. So what is the differance do u shop for the lowest price and that product is produced overseas. Stop kidding your self. If u want to be a big proud true american join the army!!!!
Dude. You're a worker. You're expendable. Quit acting like anyone owes you more than just your paycheck.
Payroll is 300million a month
Good chunk of a billion
A scab is what you get right before the wound heals
VERIZON
is a legal scam and makes about 1.8 BILLION every month!
That’s Profit not revenue, so after every bill is paid and every worker, and ALL debt is paid, Verizon profits 1.8 BILLION every MONTH! There is a big problem with that because the striking WORKERS are not asking for more money, they are only asking to keep the jobs in the USA and save the retirees the benefits promised to them. The CEO makes 350 thousand dollars every week, that’s 18 million per year. Everyone should be furious as hell, because the company should keep the jobs here in the USA and give customers a break on their monthly bill... I am sick and tired of these big businesses selling out the AMERICAN WORKERS and over charging the CUSTOMER. Verizon makes me sick, so sick I can’t stand working for those greedy bastards. I have a strong work ethics and if the company needed money I would gladly work
at a reduced pay, but that’s not the case, nor is this something like the days
of Bethlehem Steel or General Motors when the company was struggling. Verizon is one of the wealthiest companies in the world and they are taking advantage of the CUSTOMERS, the WORKERS and the AMERICAN ECONOMY. I am not a proud Verizon employee, and that hurts to NOT have pride in your employer... People need to stand up for the striking WORKERS and “what the hell use AT&T.” It’s truly sad that I would tell or suggest that a CUSTOMER use another organization other than the one he or she works for but Verizon is trying to screw the CUSTOMERS and WORKERS. Oh and by the way, the WORKERS that are currently there working in place of the UNION WORKERS, are seriously getting screwed over too, they are forced to work ridiculous hours, and under horrible conditions while the strike goes. And after the strike is over, those supervisors and managers are likely to get “laid off/RIFED.” The replacement workers aka “SCABS” will certainly get fired. Because they don’t have Union representation they are forced to work over hundreds of miles from home and LIKE IT, otherwise they are "RIFED"/ FIRED. Verizon will spend millions on a stupid name change adjustment (from Verizon to Verizon with a check mark at the end) when they could be reinvesting in FIOS for city dwellers or rural areas like Hampstead. Verizon was supposed to expand the FIOS network to the cities and in the rural areas but somehow they are getting out of that. FIOS is part of the wireline side of the business but they won’t do the expansion because it strengthens “WIRELINE side of the business.” Can you imagine if Verizon treated their CUSTOMERS and EMPLOYEES with respect and shared the profits, and a nice discount for the Customers, wouldn’t that be great, but they are choosing to screw over the CUSTOMERS and the AMERICAN ECONOMY at the same time? Verizon is not a nice place to work and they are certainly, not worthy of my hard earned money, they should give the CUSTOMER a
large discount from the 1.8 BILLION dollars they profited from last month and
secure a 5 year contract with the hardworking EMPLOYEES of AMERICA. If you are a retiree, or a CUSTOMER of Verizon cancel your service and go with someone else until they treat the American workers with some respect, and promise to KEEP THE JOBS HERE IN AMERICA!
I don’t feel sorry for Verizon one little bit. They
created this culture, and the changes come from the top on down... How
embarrassing to work for an organization so ANTI-AMERICAN when they make the money they do. 1.8n BILLION last month you got to be kidding me. This is not about money it’s about MORE MONEY and screw the AMERICAN EMPLOYEE AND THE AMERICAN ECONOMY.
Currently they are being exposed as "American job killers" for sending American Jobs overseas with the highest charges to the American Customer, I find disgraceful... I canceled my service with Verizon because I rather give my money to a company that returns it back into the economy and not in the pockets of a few upper management. More and more of these companies need to be exposed so that American consumers could have a voice in what happens to their money, economy and fellow workers.
I AM A UNION STRIKING WORKER BECAUSE VERIZONS assHAS GOTTEN TOO BIG, AND WANT MORE JOBS OVER SEAS, WHY BECASUE1.8 BILLION IS NOT ENOUGH. WELL THE FACT IS I CAN GET ANOTHER JOB, AND IT FEELS GOOD, IS IT A SET BACK YES BUT THEY WILL NEVER GET MY MONEY AGAIN AND i AM NOT THE ONLY ONE. ALSO THE POOR SUCKERS THAT THINK THEY NEED TO STAY THERE LIKE THE FOR THE FIRST LINE SUPERVISORS AND MANAGERS ARE THE REAL SUCKERS, GOOD Luck. I AM SET FREE AND STILL MAKE THE SAME MONEY...
Agreed. Union leadership secure their jobs due to the strike. They are still get paid and have medical insurance. They are not even in the same boat with Union people. Hard to believe you trust someone who would benefit from your suffering.
It works the other way too…. It shores up the EWA’s. They, also, think a few more days, just a few more days. The only difference is there is a plan for them to get back to their normal jobs regardless of whether or not the union returns.
Tick tock.
Stewart's are getting paid to be on strike, it is union duty, I bet they didn't tell their coworkers that! Do they even know why they are still striking? Verizon offered to take the temporary movement off the table if they signed by the 20th. So y didn't they sign?
