In being that the writing is on the wall for the downsizing of the wireline side of the business, what are your plans to be prepared for more cutbacks. Will you ride the train until it stops? Perhaps use the education money for additional schooling certifications? Basically, what is your contingency plan. Not some troll here, but trying to spark some healthy discussion on preparing for the inevitable.

I know that Asshat Man ,"THE HUMAN STAIN!",will have nothing to hate about.Except for hating himself.
I think a degree is a must. I don't know what benefits exactly were part of the Rif package. We went to the introductory phone-in seminar and got some good info on resumes, but they were cagey about what exactly else they do for you. If anyone knows - that would be helpful. My family member didn't pursue it any further, but i was curious about what benefits were actually offered to help with a new career.

At this point, I am gong to wait it out for a little while, and see what happens.
If they sell WIRELINE, and the cut my bonus (big part of my salary), I will look for a new job, but not quit, until I have one, and the best salary I can get.
it's funny. there was a similiar thread in crowaround and the post got deleted after someone mentioned he'd find a new career to the company where all works can work together.
