Like it or not, the union is a needed thing with a company like Verizon. We at least have a few checks in place to defend the hourly worker. We have some very very disgruntled managers in va at richneck road. One , the only time he can even show up,is when there is a strike, cause he thinks women belong home barefoot and preg. The other had to leave New York cause he couldn't satisfy the need, and now he is mad at every craft male. My guess it was a craft person that was completing her call if you know what I mean, maybe even long distance!

I pay less then 20 bucks a week. My very large pension is covering the dues many times over. Thanks for your concern, I think I'll be fine.

"Why would any intelligent person voluntarily turn over part of your wages to someone who is going to "take care of you"."

Huh...the day one got hired is the day they automatically became the part of the union without having a say in it. These are "union shops" also known as "closed shops"...I can't say anything about RTW state of VA, but in the rest of the territories that are currently on strike that's the way it goes.

The union lost the day they agreed to join. Why would any intelligent person voluntarily turn over part of your wages to someone who is going to "take care of you". Unless you're a street walker, I don't think you really need the CWA to be your pimp.
