To add forget about the layoff stigma. There are outside recruiters at top company's who know about att issues, leadership problems and culture messes.
Esp at direct and indirect competitors. I think I read in this or another board that a google recruiter basically said out loud that att sucks. It's an inside recruiting joke.
I know this is like being said every 5 mins. Laid off a couple months ago. Found a job in less than 40 days. Prayed that I would not be picked up internally. 30k later and with a great director to boot, I'm happy. I've lost some stress weight. Blood pressure down. And I've got a chunk of cash in the bank (my consolation prize.
Folks this layoff can be a gift. Spend the day feeling sorry for yourself, write a pissed off post about Randall. Then get busy.
You are damned if we do damned if we don't. If you get laid off, tough- go find another job and get out of your comfort zone. If you don't, you'll end up in another uncomfortable new position with double or triple the workload and (from what it sounds like) facing the same thing again in 6 months or so. Good luck.
What are the statistics looking like? Territories etc. how many of which positions are seeing the worst?
Calls are going down on west florida as we speak. Its a slaughterhouse of pain.....
I am not sure why some people don't even attempt to look for a better job, I.know many people that easily would find a job at Google, etc, but for some reason keep putting up with this surplus notices every quarter, incredible!! It does nothing to ones career,
Most people at AT&T have a lot of value waiting to be unlocked by a real technology company or a different field entirely. Working at AT&T dulls your skills and makes you feel awful about yourself because you're constantly told how worthless you are despite your background and past accomplishments. I was laid off in one of the earlier rounds and it was the best thing to ever happen to me. I've found better paying, more satisfying work and my life is much less stressful. Hang in there, if you're laid off tomorrow life will get better!
This process has been despicable on behalf of at&t. Tomm brings about a major change in our lives one way or another. Even for those who stay you'd better make your #1 priority getting out of Indirect all together. Within a few years at&t will look to sub out all of this work to a 3rd party company for a fraction of the cost to pay us.
I'm ready for my call, I'd certainly like to stay.......but I will say this process has soured my perception of at&t as a company. I will say as little as possible on the call and I recommend all of you do the same. Stay positive my fellow NDAE's, we all have value and in some respects we might look back on being cut as a hidden gem and springboard. Best.....

it's a wake up call either way. ive always considered myself a lifer there happy in middle management, i felt secure and all that good stuff. i need to take control and own my destiny rather than waiting on someone to replace me.
i don't want to lose my job but am ready if that decision is made for me.
I went through this last year on another layoff. AT&T is not a technology company no matter what anyone says. You are playing with tinker toys there at AT&T. Go to Google, Amazon or another real tech company. You will be much happier and better paid. They Lso treat their employees much better

No, I'm kind of scared and don't know where to go or what to do. I have kids, then dragging this out makes it worse....but then again I haven't seen the other side...who knows
