the june first date makes sense, they save a holiday pay, save ins. premiums for the month of may, and it is before the NY employees can collect unemployment.
Strike Fund + Unemployment. lets not forget I now qualify for food stamps, free family health insurance, Zero co-pay, Bi-weekly food pantry visits, free electric and the kids get free breakfast and Lunch's!!!!
I've heard to expect people to come back June 1, and that there is somewhat of an agreement in place but the company doesn't want to pay Holiday Pay for Memorial Day.
fkg neither of those figures are accurate, which shows how much you know. maybe that does cover my expenses maybe not, but it certainly makes it easier to fight for my future with that extra income.
In NY state the maximum unemployment benefit is $420 per week. Plus say $225 a week strike fund. Does that really cover all of your expenses?

Not everyone has the luxury of a welfare check in 10 days. This needs to end.
3500 have not crossed and ten days from now we get unemployment. i would rather go back to work, but the unemployment will make this fight easier.
Spoke to my VP and he said still expect another 2 weeks or so. 3500 have already crossed. More to come Monday when no new news is out.

Saw it too. No real news other than discussions continue through the weekend. Wonder how long this will continue. A lot of lives are being held hostage hanging on an outcome and final resolution to this fiasco.
I can confirm that I saw his response from crowdaround. He did say negotiation is on-going through this weekend.
They really are bargaining this weekend but won't release how it's going.
