Since so many of you agree with the company and are fine with outsourcing of your jobs, then they company should do just that. Outsource wireless employees jobs to India since they are fine with that. Leave the Unions jobs here. This will help settle all problems. Your non union employees agree with being moved to Texas and outsourcing there jobs to India. Since that is what compnay will do, do it now. These employees dont have it in them to fight for their jobs.

The union demanding more and more will accomplish that though. They will have to move jobs over seas in order to pay you lazy union workers. Unions took GM out and forced other companies to move.
Care to explain to us how it was the union's fault with GM? We're waiting.
@HwEwbe0-npn guess IT jobs aren't worth much since India is taking those jobs. All you IT employees who know your jobs are leaving, which we all know you know that. Remember your fellow employee here @HwEwbe0-npn says your jobs aren't important.
We all know how the gps on trucks work. You head downtown for a job, pretend it's two hours long and take an hour off at Starbucks.
Also about Verizon and taxes - everyone points to the 2008 years. How about looking at years where Verizon didn't have write offs. No one pays taxes when you have massive deductions. If verizon was cheating on their taxes we would be fined already. It's a non issue.
ASSHAT AGAIN
@zdq....there's this amazing technology called GPS where the company knows where their vehicles are every second of every day. They know how fast they travel and how long they idle. No one sits at a central office for hours unless they have to be there.
One other thing - while this occurred years ago, and over the course of the last two contracts, I have personally seen outsourcing to union shops in the NE decimate groups in non-unon right to work states. Poor employees last act was coming to NE centers to train associates on how to do the work, then after the work was transitioned, the non union team was rif'd. So its not just outsourcing to overseas cheap labor, its a result of these handouts in your contract that other middle class Americans lose their jobs, so 'you' can keep 'yours.'
The funny thing is, most of our Filipino workers are managed by American outsourcing firms. They most certainly make more than unions are touting. Most of the contractors have masters degrees, and all have college degrees, its a requirement to interview for the positions. They make monthly bonuses for achieving and exceeding internal metrics, its a pay for performance model. There is a high rate of churn because other outsourced american companies offer competitive pay and bonuses as well. Not to mention if you don't meet your objectives, you are managed out the door.
All that aside, I personally don't agree with the amount of outsourcing that occurs in our industry and others, certainly don't agree with our company paying little taxes and actually getting millions in tax returns. To be fair, v is doing things within the confines of current law and policy. We need to vote out the a$$hats in Congress and senate that are bought and paid for. We also need to not allow our company to have lobbyists that partner with competitors lobbyists to write policy and industry reforms that benefit the industry and not the employees. Bottom lines is we need to untangle the almighty dollar from politics. whether you are an associate or non-union , the politics and collusion with big money has to change.
OP- You are an A--HOLE. None of us said we want our jobs shipped over seas. The union demanding more and more will accomplish that though. They will have to move jobs over seas in order to pay you lazy union workers. Unions took GM out and forced other companies to move. Nobody feels sorry for you guys who sit in the CO parking lots for hours reading papers and sleeping. Sure there are some very good workers but most of you could not hold up a job at Burger King. Union Strong, what a joke. Stay out and go away.
The Union folk choose to walk off their jobs. The EWA folk didn't get to choose anything. They must do EWA or they get fired.
If union people want to harass them over it, then they are in the wrong. Don't expect sympathy. You aren't saving anyones job by demanding someone else quit theirs in order for you to get "job security" that no one else gets.
Also quit pretending you are doing this to save middle class jobs. You are doing this for your own job. If you cared about others, the. You would have taken a stand when Verizon took away all non Union pensions. You didn't, so now you are the last one holding the ball. Of course you are going to be targeted.
Long story short: if you quit blowing smoke up our asses and pretending this is something it isn't, maybe we wouldn't all think you are wearing the emperors clothes.
Half of the people working in my office are Indian already. So onshore vs offshore is meaningless.
What you can do is be better at your job. If you can be replaced by someone overseas for $2/HR, then your job was never important to begin with.
We do not agree with outsourcing your jobs.
We understand the impact of it, as it has happened to us even more.
You want to get sympathy, do harass, spit on, cuss out, the EWAs.
If you just focus on that you would be fine, but all the other crap from you, makes must of happy to see you broken like a twig.
1 day longer, 1 day dumber, Union stupid
