Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

What life is there after ATT?

if you are an AE where do you go from here? What good jobs are out there for AEs? I cant go back to any retail sales floor or sell cable services door to door. Is ATT the end of the road in a normal middle class life and if they make you leave are you stuck cleaning trays at the mall?

Account executive is a position that many companies have. Download a job app and search it. It is not the end of the road!!!

You can do retail, thats a dead end street, you can do Apple Store, thats a bit better (assuming you are in retail)

I was in a store, took a PMI class, got a 20 pct bump and a job as a project coordinator for a health insurance company.

Don't sell yourself short. If you're an AE, you have it all. Sales management, training/trainer, merchandising, operations, management in general. Who wouldn't want to hire somebody with all that experience. It is all transferable. As you know the Indirect side is not the easy side, as everyone thinks until they have walked in those shoes. You have to be creative to get things done, because you don't have the final say, Unlike those in AT&T Retail.

it would be good to know what general profession people went into after they left indirect. You really in good jobs now? Are you indirect for another company and is it better, maybe selling comcast to chinese grocery stores or living on food stamps? Whats better whats worse?
