I'm assuming this will be a different answer for CWA and IBEW members. Not trolling, just want to ask where everyone is....

"Nothing out there"? Use yer Internet .com thingy and search Google fiber jobs. EWA's are frigging helpless, but the good news is they have jobs for you, also. (can you spell RIF?)
Actually jobs are readily available, but they don't hire someone who might leave in two weeks. I have two offers @ 34 & 35 if I leave vz. I would but I have some payback to deliver to the company that shut off my kid's health care as a scare tactic.
"There is nothing out there with VZ pay and benefits, trust me, I've looked,"
As the real estate agents would say, "location is everything"...if you're stuck in a one-horse-town, you might just have to look farther and travel longer in order to get where you need to be...
Good luck.
OP here, you are all way better off than me. Wife stopped working when we had our 1 year old and now she is pregnant with #2. I have to go back to work. There is nothing out there with VZ pay and benefits, trust me, I've looked,
If i start selling my sex toys....I can make it to Monday
I don't care who you are dwq that's funny
Easily until end of the year, likely longer than that if needed.
I'm in no rush to come back. What-so-ever. And if I end up coming back to a lousy deal, I'll be putting my papers in promptly.
I built a war chest of $10M working some OT just to be ready for a long strike. I'm going to fish, play golf and drink beer until I get a fair contract. My resources are infinity so I can stay out until I'm dead with no need for future employment. I only work because of my love for customers. By the way, that wasn't me that cut the fiber and I had nothing to do with creating dummy accounts in CoA so someone could call in and tie up EWA to keep them from helping real people in need of assistance.
I can go 4 more months before I need to find something to bring in some $. If I decide to sell some of the toys I could go 8-9 more months.
My wife can get benefits from her job and I have about 600k saved up over 26 years. Thinking about retiring in a couple years anyways. Its been nice with the time off.
