Hey everyone! Don't forget that its bring your child to your former work day. Plenty of fun finger paints and there will even be a clown. There will be a mandatory workshop for aggressive yelling that we highly encourage all children of striking parents to attend. After burgers are served, we will have a wonderful demonstration by our more experienced workers about how our children should act at their future jobs. Just because you are too much of a coward to stand up for yourself don't hate on the Union. Sure, we'll be back to work soon with our raises, pensions, and 401k's, but that's no reason to be so angry. Agreed 100%. How dare a company take benefits from me when I refuse to work and actively try to damage their imagine. I remember a time when you could walk in a circle all day like a productive member of society and still get a 130k bag of peanuts to eat and have full medical. Sad to see that day is no more and companies can now stop paying me when I don't work and remove my benefits when I walk off the job for months at a time. Dark days are on us.
Honestly all the union people have so much to complain about. I've been with this company for some time and I cannot say that I have ever felt used, abused or neglected. This company has done everything I could ask of an employer. I have healthcare (sure I pay some for it, just like everyone else in America), good pay, and numerous benefits. I can surely understand the union for standing up for what they believe in, but I just don't understand how you can say all these terrible things about Verizon, then go back to work for them once a contract is made. No one seems satisfied with anything. Why stay if you hate it? I just cannot understand that point. I'm not trying to be rude, but could someone in the union explain how that works? I could not work for a company for so long if I didn't like it.

The fact that it's amusing to troll while we ALL are being laughed at by upper-management says quite a lot about the person you are. It's not funny, really; it's pathetic, and that's how you come off.
The company continues to pit both union and management against each other. Their elitist mentality doesn't see the value in working as a team, like the old Ma Bell days, but then again, they're not in it for building a solid company and taking pride in their employees, both union and management. The Union workers know how bad the company treats management and are just as disgusted by how EVERYONE gets treated. Upper-management is groomed to think we're all morons and beneath them. "Replacement workers" are then brought in and tarnish the image of Vz workers further and don't give a rat's a-- about anything but a paycheck, no respect for the customers, their coworkers, the customers and put people in danger, quite frankly.
So, while this is a place to anonymously blow off steam and poke fun at the people on the picket line, it's also showing how morally bankrupt you are and that you've got a little too much of the corporate Kool-Aid in your system. You're just a number who can be replaced, too.
Up until about the mid-80s, businesses in this company were there to provide a service/sell a product. The people who ran those businesses - no matter the size - felt their employees were a part of their success and acted accordingly. We've lost that. It's now the top tier collecting their cash and keeping their investors happy. And in that we have been forced to take any kind of treatment from our managers - no matter who you work for - and "be grateful" for the peanuts they throw at us. It has to stop. Why SHOULD we have to take poor treatment, no bathroom breaks, forced OT, no time off for doctor's appointments, child care emergencies etc. ? And why should YOU face that treatment? NO ONE SHOULD. And we've been taught that's the way it is and be grateful for what you get.
Being on that line = standing for something. Integrity. Something we've all lost along the way.
