Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

EWA Supervisors are fine bosses but they are terrible leaders.

Working in a internal co dept I can totally see why the style of senior mgmt around here would drive you guys crazy. The EWA supervisors (BAU associate supervisors) that I ve come in contact with all make great bosses. They are result driven and get the job done per the exec expectations. But they are absolutelty terrible leaders. They don't even attempt to explore how they can improve their workflows, instead they rely completely on automated tools to give them readouts of individual contributions. These readouts dont even begin to appropriately provide the actual metric of contribution but they don't seem to care. Many (not all) of them are completely hands off and ignorant to the actual work being done. The only time we see them on the floor is if an exec is visiting or if there has been an escalation. They are terrible motivators and micromanage their employees to death instead of fostering a positive work environment.

There I said something empathic for once now get back to work you a--holes.

yepper. got a few execs (sr call center types) talking loudly is the middle of the floor right now.

agree w/ the stat analogy. sure glad they don't try to micro-manage my bathroom breaks. thinking that may come after our 8 weeks of OJT is completed.
