Ironically the EWA's are working the proposed new Union contract. Forced OT Forced to work away from home. Paying for benefits and no pension or job security. It sucks.

@HuX668P-qjj - this mindset will hurt you in the long run. Just ask any one of these contractors (or someone actively looking for work) out here right now, will they accept EMPLOYMENT from a great paying job, all they have to do is accept the contact that verizon is offering. I guarantee you 100% of the contractors will take it.
@qer... that's what I though. if the union hadn't chosen to go on strike, set up picket lines, and start harassing the people trying to earn a living, we wouldn't be in this position... there'd be no need for reactions.

Do all these EWA'S ignore their brethren cussing at picketers, flipping off women and children supporting the line? And then they complain when union folks return the favor? EWA = SCAB, worthless human debris.

This logic is so tiresome that it's making me sick. This statement is what is wrong with this country. Don't lecture me about "walking away" from a good job. I did NOT walk away from anything! We as a union are exercising our given "right" to strike against Vz. We are striking for the exact reason you are railing us for. We are out there so we don't become one of those people/families who lose their job and lose our houses because this company decided that it's better to send good jobs overseas. Why should we have to "accept" that this should happen to us? Why can't we stand up and say that enough is enough? To wish us I'll will because someone else would love to have our jobs is just envy, one of the deadly sins. You know what else is a deadly sin? GREED. This company is trying to eliminate good American jobs in order to make just a little more than the already $1.5 billion in profit per MONTH!!! So save your sob stories of people out of work and maybe put your two feet on the ground and stand up for yourself and those good people you have witnessed be ruined. Wake up America!!!

I will gain over 10x the money I lost when I receive my pension. The same pension I would not have if we weren't union. I tried the management thing, I could not believe what I was paying for medical, glad I came back.
Really? YOU chose to abandon your job. In doing so, YOU are the reason we are on EWA.
Now that we are on EWA… You swear, spit, and yell at us. You jump in front of our moving cars, and cry that we hit you. You ridicule us when we make the same mistakes you did when you were new. You set off fire alarms, and get us evicted from our hotels. In doing so, you also affect innocent bystanders. We are dealing with the customers YOU pissed off by abandoning your jobs. We deal with the ramifications of your sabotage.
I want to get back to my family, so I hope an agreement is made soon. However, if it weren’t for them, I’d say lock out and rot a$$holes!!!
Support the union?! As far as I am concerned, we should be allowed to anally rape each and every one of you with chainsaws.
You soon will be following the model of our compensation. Vz is now delivering on the promise made many years ago where the union benefits will be the same as management. To be honest, we have accepted the fact many of us will be riffed as soon as the strike ends or at the end of the year. You just need to accept the fact you will be there soon. Everyone can say one day longer one day stronger, but the lost money will never be recaptured. You will be coming back with less, those as the facts. I just hope everyone is safe during these trying times for the union members. My wife and are are both working Ewas and ready to retire this year, I am actually hoping for a package.
Right, just like the union supports the EWA folks...Lets see now, following and harassing field technicians, spitting and cursing out EWA employees as they enter a VZ site, yeah all all for it. Bite Me!!!!

EWA are AT WILL employees.. Can be let go at anytime. Not saying this is right but just how it is. This is the unions fight not ours. But I wish you guys best of luck!
