"The only "Free Ride" that I'm aware of is an old song by Foghat"

I believe that was the Edgar Winter Group. Foghat did "Slow Ride."

So if I understand correctly, we are to support current unions because of what past unions may have accomplished? Sorry, there are no free rides in this world. The current union needs to stand on its own and if it doesn't prove to be worth it to me, then screw it. I don't know where people get off thinking that past accomplishments get you a lifetime get out of jail free card. Maybe that is how today's unions have managed to brainwash their people into following like puppydogs. Every day is a new day, so you better be worth your salt every day.

"Unions are the death of society. "

Unions are alive and well in most countries with high standard of living...

"Your free ride is over and landlines are dead."

The only "Free Ride" that I'm aware of is an old song by Foghat. Landlines are also alive and well all over the planet, bringing speeds that we have yet to see in this country because VZ, AT&T and the rest of the crew have been stuffing the executives' pockets instead of investing into new technologies...

Crony capitalist oligarchs are the death of the middle class. VZ is part of that group. The unions are here to fight against that, too bad if you don't like it. Unions are here to stay.

Obviously this ignorant dingbat knows nothing about our business ( must be a manager)- We can't even get WIFI to work 15 feet away from an IPAD half the time- wired is here long enough for us to retire, trust me- and dopey, how do you think that cell call gets routed? yeah, through fiber LANDLINE backbones.

Do you managers think you deserve a pension? You have really helped verizon out be working hard and being away from your families. It would be nice to share just 5% of the huge profit!

Sounds good to you as a field tech but the reality of the future will be upon us within years as 5G & 6G w/ wireless networks delivering/receiving much better grades of data/video service than today. After adaptation the vast majority of landline circuits will transition to end to end wireless technology (already occurring today to some degree) outplaced landlines, much like what fiber has done to copper over the last 15 years.
