Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

What I know....good inside scoop

Im apart of the Entertainment Group and I have actual proof that there were meetings held with HR with the managers, AM, Directors and AVP this week. One call was on Wednesday and two calls were this morning. The managers that were on the call have surplussed employees and had to complete training in order to receive paperwork for their impacted employees. This will be cascaded to the impacted people on Friday and you will receive your 60 day notice as of 5/20. You may receive severance info tomorrow or Monday as they need ample time to let the impacted employees know.

We got an invite a few hours ago for a group call Monday morning at 9:30am. It's probably to tell us to stand by for more info. Watch them say they are delaying it until Friday next week

Received an update that because this is the most unorganized (LOL right) surplus it will take place on Monday vs the traditional Friday notices.

There' Absolutely were non-mandatory informational only calls held on Wednesday and Thursday. These calls were offered for managers of impacted employees for informational purposes on the process only and hosted by the HRBP of the org. The calls provided no specific information on who is impacted, how many were impacted or anything else of that nature. Managers who will be required to deliver a SNL had to complete a mandatory LSO training course. This info is relevant for the Collins org.

Well L1 (like me) was obviously not on the calls, but everyone else mentioned was. Like I mentioned, I saw the invite, I actually have a screenshot which showed days and time the calls were to happen on Wed/Thur. I will let you know what I find out today as far as how it goes down etc. Anyone else going thru this and getting notified, please let us know what you find out.

Just for clarification purposes. This OP seems misleading. Managers did not have calls Wednesday or today. They are the lowest line being impacted at this time, have no notices to deliver and know nothing. So far in the dark it's not funny. It is management levels 1-4 that are being surplused, but level 1 has not received training, been contacted or received notification regarding the surplus since the call advising of the volunteer option. No one will give information and it is BAU "don't talk about what's going on" and "just do your job". Like this situation doesn't exist. If anyone did have a call in the Barton Org it was AMs, Directors and AVPs. Let's see what 5/20 and 5/23 bring. We can't change it anyway. Good luck everyone. Just always have a plan b.

It's sad how many views these threads get. That just goes to show how nerve wrecking this situation is for all of us.

I been at the Dtv site in Tulsa for about 8 months. Should I be worried?

can it be done? of course you can blend dmdr with care calls. i'm saying it's unlikely to happen. from a mobility perspective Tuggle isn't going to want to have to answer for true sales (f--- it lol) numbers blending in with Care.

I came from a background with Care, MSS and DMDR. It's easily attainable to integrate and transition. DMDR is overpaid for sales yet MSS and Care get about 1/3 of the rate. You can make over 19.00/hr in DMDR and close to 2000.00 in commission easily, yet you can work in MSS/Care, sell the same thing and end woth 19.00/hr and $600.00 commission.... I hope they can just transition some people to other jobs that are hardworking and dedicated and cut the frequent abusers

so you're saying other Sales departments from DTV or existing EG could handle DMDR? I'd say you're right and that's not some crazy idea the leaders haven't considered. They aren't going to blend true sales calls (don't laugh) though with S&S calls.

You're right but other departments could handle that work line. It's already being taken little by little. All services being sold from their department is being sold thru other departments. We could easily do it without them.

Sorry to be blunt, hopefully the Executives reading these posts don't get any clever ideas

dmdr is a different animal than care/sales&service though.

This cut is manager level at this time. Reps will probably be cut during the 2nd half of the year.

@Hu9jJnU-dhj no problem; I came across this site the other day and because I saw the actual invite I want to help put some peoples minds to rest. I will update the post if I fall in the bracket and what their process is. I love my job and working for the company and when I got the invite back in April it put me into slight depression....I've been stressed out about this process and it is lagging. I'd rather have got it over with if it was going to happen. I've been with the company for over 11 years and I have been thru this process before but not at a manager level.

As far as the mgr to rep ratio, typically each manager is assigned between 10 to 15 agents. If they cut managers they would expect their team to grow to about 14 to 19. The leadership will argue that Help in 60 or MI60 can support while they adjust to the team change etc. It's only a matter of time before centers start to shut down here and there. There is no need to have all these departments fulfilling the same requests. You have DMDR selling TV, New lines, Digital Life, Uverse, DTV etc and Care selling New Lines, DTV, MSS selling New Lines, Uverse, Dtv selling New Lines, Dtv and possibly getting Digital life if they havent already.

So this should mainly affect managers and not reps then, correct?
