Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

What are the severance packages like?

What is the option if you want to take it immediately? Can you leave that day or do you have a required amount of days to continue working?

You always get screwed, regardless, in 2012 severance payout was 100 % of your salary. Now is time of employment with a cap of 6 months, soon there will be None!!!! Just like out sick time at ATO, 1.7 sick days a year, what a joke!!!

Sign the waver or else, if you take more than 30 days, they will make you wait, as punishment

Just to clarify nothing about severance is immediate. It's not cut on your last day. From your general release/waiver signing your waiting 45 days ( most people get it in 30 days from last day on payroll and signing the waiver).

It's not quick money

I think it is middle of June and then you can leave anytime, however they are required to give you 60 day notice so you could take your time during the 60 days and be on payroll and still receive health care benefits.

If you found a job I would go for it. If you plan to start a company or take your time I would utilize the 60 days as it will be free two months to get your future in line.
