Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

My friends, don't be fools. No one is going to announce that they are making an announcement.

The company has told the EWAs to plan to continue until August. By then there will be enough contractors in the field and the EWAs will start to go home and back to business as usual. Tomorrow's the 20th and the job security clause of the LBFO expires. No change.

That last, best, final bullshit is out the window and so is the may 20th crap story.

"Shammo repeated that pledge on Thursday, though he did add that the start of new talks was “a good sign” that some progress was being made."

http://fortune.com/2016/05/19/verizon-is-seeing-a-big-dip-in-new-customers-due-to-strike/

This business could still be a viable one but unfortunately the guys in the ivory tower don't have a clue and the minions underneath them regurgitate the taking points waiting for the day their rif packages show up. This is the culture instilled on its employees. One that basically leaves it's management thinking about their employment on a quarter to quarter basis while not giving a sh-- about the impact wrong decisions will make further down the road. So, as a tech, why should I care when no one else does? I guess I'm like management now. I'm going to keep collecting a check and ride this bus until the wheels fall off.

@kiq. I don't think anyone wants to approach the picket lines. You all reek of stale cheese me a$$ sweat, and look like you should be on Americas Most Wanted. I think a few of union monkeys are overdue for their rabies shot as well.

Nobody has told EWAs how long it will be because nobody knows. Another thing is you union guys are tough against one guy when there are a bunch of you. Try one against one like real men. If you jump in front of a truck like the drunk Jerry did you deserve it. Your lines look like the homeless walking to the free food trucks. What a joke.

I could be wrong, but not one location did a scab approach a picketer and tell him how he feels. Time is running out, it will really help with your anger.

@jyi, hahaha little man is getting testy. It's ok buddy. Once you've swallowed for your union boss, and get your daily dose of protein, you will feel better. I know it's heartbreaking that you're just a pathetic little picket monkey, but I know you can make it little man. Tomorrow maybe they will bring donuts to the line for you. Yippee!!!

@irc. I can only hope VZ puts the screws to the union and breaks it, so that others like ATT can do the same. We might finally get rid of the union scum once and for all.

@cdp is that your cry for help? Poor little guy, looking for a way off the picket lines? I realize walking in circles is probably the hardest day of work you've put in for several years, but buck up buttercup it's not going to last forever. Soon, you will be back with your friends, giving them handjobs as you sit around together drinking coffee and wasting time. You can make it little guy.

Yo @rqk, other corporations like AT&T are on the sideline watching and waiting for the outcome. If it's not favorable to the VZ unions, you can bet your assthat AT&T will make changes too when it's time to renegotiate their union contracts.....

This outcome might change history for all unions within the telecom business.

The union morons have nothing better to do than create hype and false headlines. I mean, no one cares about the strike outside of VZ so they have to get attention somehow. They must have had to walk counter-clockwise today on the line so it got them all worked up. Hey union boys, do us all a favor and keep jumping in front of cars.

If the OP is correct, how will the secretary of labor react after his time has been wasted. Something will give, people is his position won't tolerate zero outcome.
