Are all union members liberal Democrats?

i am a far right conservative- i have a stellar work ethic and know my job better than some manager or scab ever will. I took my job knowing it was a union shop and that they would handle the negotiation of my compensation for me. The stability this has provided me for 27 years has enabled me to concentrate on serving my community and raising my family. Corporate America wants to drive the final death-stake through- the middle class ( which floats wireless, fios, and all of the other tech-heavy industries), take out any sense of humanity ( even though citizens united ruled that corporations are people) and treat you like a lifeless tool. Sad thing is, with the decline of unions, this will be all that the new generation knows- you'll have sh--ty jobs throughout your life, no stability and cower in your cubicle afraid to take a stand for what you all know is bullshit and lick some directors satchel to keep your job. Me? I'll be retired living in the mountains.
No. Only the more vocal one spouting rhetoric are. The silent majority are either independent, libertarian or conservative. Most, at our age, understand now that everything isn't black-n-white but shades of grey. Wisdom has taught us that politicians are out for themselves and will never satisfy their base voters lest they lose them. Anyone in the union that is still a card carrying democrat need only to look back to 2008-2010 when the democrats had congress and the white house. At that time any and all unions legislative requests could have been address such as card check. They weren't. Enough said.
@grs are you a Democrat for fiscal reasons, or also for the social policy? Do you support abortion, same sex marriage, amnesty for illegals, tighter gun control, and government ran healthcare?
@vic as an Independent will you choose Clinton or Trump?
Middle of the road independent and I have two master's degrees. Call me a thug why don't you!
Just for the guy below, you do know that very rarely can fiscal policy change during the first few years, any changes made will generally only effect the bottom line in years to come, for instance the only recent example of balancing a budget was Clinton,( with republican congress). Now a balance budget has projected income, that income never materialized so the balance on paper was not a true balance we still ended up in the red for that year. The best argument can be shown when either party has a super majority then we can see how this effects policy more directly. Google get with a majority Dems or Reps then you will see a different picture, the President alone can do nothing without congress.
The union members with any sense are democrats.
In fact, anyone with any goddamn sense is a democrat.
So.... That leaves out a lot of older white men with beer bellies who were super proud to to buy their first Rolex and sit on their riding lawn mower at their house in the suburbs. Don't worry, heart disease and diabetes are on it.
I'm a management employee and I'm a democrat. Because I vote with my brain. Conservative democrats are the 3 Gs. God gas and guns.
From indisputable FACTS. Not trickle down data mining circular sh-- arguments.
disposable income grown 6x more under democrat presidents.
GDP 7x more
Coloporate profits 16% more under democrats. They actually declined under republicans.
2.5 more debt under republicans
Don't forget the last two crisises.
STFU
Moderate Republican = RINO
Small percentage are in Libertarian Party because of guns, marijuana and are opposed to foreign war. The D's and R's tend to send troops over seas like Vietnam , Iraq , Korea, etc.
Maybe not but they are told to vote that way...keeps the union pockets deep!
@ipu Full disclosure, I'm not union I'm management. But I can kind of understand the conservative democrat issue because I'm a Moderate Republican. To the list you added, here's my view:
No I do not support: abortion, restroom access, government healthcare, or amnesty for illegal aliens. And I'm 100% pro Second Ammendment.
But I do support same sex marriage.
So I can see how someone can conservative on monetary issues and more liberal on social policy. Maybe a conservative democrat is just the opposite.
Conservative Democrat = Oxymoron
Most of us in va. are gun toting country folk...cant stand those liberal bastards
Some are in the Green Party.
@yvi that's interesting. Can you explain the difference between a liberal and conservative Democrat? For instance, the Democrats platform supports abortion, transgender access to public restrooms, same sex marriage, government supported healthcare, amnesty for illegal aliens, SS for illegals, etc. As a conservative Democrat, do you support those as well? I'm asking an honest question and not trying to bait you into an argument, just seriously interested in your thoughts
Who cares what they support?
a rose by any other name....
I am actually a conservative democrat.
Think of it this way: they are supporting someone who is owned by Lobbyist's and is crooked as a snake whose main speaking points are to increase wages to an unsupportable level, promote welfare, and to remove any type of morals and accountability. Now, did I just describe Hillary or Chris Shelton lol!!!! Seems that it perfectly fits both. So OF COURSE union members are democrats!
They are Donkeycrats and eunuchs.
@zyv LOL! Good point!!
some are democrats, but not all.... there's socialists and communists as well.
The stock is in freefall and you communist think u gonna get a good contract haha haha haha haha haha haha haha haha haha you idiots
It would make sense that most, if not the vast majority, are democrats. It's the welfare mentality that drives both the Democratic Party and the Unions. Neither push personal accountability, but instead advocate for social handouts, mediocrity, and an aversion to anything that resembles morals or character. Two peas in a pod really.
No, they are not.
The vast majority are.
My brother is a union member in Ohio (not telcom), and is a republican.
