Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Hopefully, we won't have to wait.....

Hopefully we won't have to wait for an officially signed agreement prior to going back home. I wonder if the union might agree to come back to work (and not immediately walk back off the job) and The Company agree to bargain in good faith (or in some folk's minds BEGIN bargaining in good faith)...and then both sides continue to come to an agreement on a fair contract.

Say what you will, but the company put an offer on the table and the Union refused to provide a meaningful counter offer or even put it to a vote by membership. So stop with the BS about good faith - Union has shown none of it. Stay out as long as of want and keep believing that Union leadership is representing your best interests.

"bargaining in good faith"? Did you forget that you are dealing with Lowell and the rest of his cronies. Good faith is not the way they do business .... employees, government and customers alike. You better have a signed "winning" contract before you return.

We did that in 2011. Not happening in 2016.

Despite their tough talk, they know they arent going to get what they want. They are just trying to get what they can. Once it looks like they are in the area of a viable agreement, they will go back to work until a contract is finalized.

Union won't come back till there is an agreed contract. It might not be a ratified one but one that the union negotiators put forth for a vote. Until then we stay out.
