Union Victory in sight......Company a$$ kicked in Strike!

By the thug comments it shows who is concerned about the customer. And stay out of our business. Please. Union moans no media coverage. Union moans don't cross the line customers. Union harrasses other businesses to the point a judge has to get involved to stop your thug actions. If you claim to be striking for middle class America (which you are clearly not with your outrageous salaries) then all have a say here and elsewhere. Suck it up buttercup because your union is fixing to get served.

We are strong willed, and will stand against greed to the end, What has made Verizon great, are it's strong willed employees, Union and non-Union. In my opinion it's what makes what the deference between our competitors.

And OP here again.....I just want to add that every interaction I'vw had with everyone at VZ and VZW has been awesome. Without exception.

I'm ibew in northeast we have no strike fund and we don't collect unemployment. I would never cross so don't tell me to.

Yfp thank you for your sensible comment. I have to say I am sad and disappointed at the reaction to my post. My home and business have been VZ / VZw customers and advocates of the great service since 1993.

tried Sprint, AT&T and Nextel, but they were never as good. I also own a ton of VZ stock because I buy stock In companies I love from personal experience.

it leaves a sour taste in my mouth about Verizon workers to get blasted for a question I am actually very interested in.

I have choices, but still sticking with VZ and VZW unless you totally mess up.

OP, years ago both the CWA and IBEW held their own vote to create/fund a strike fund. CWA voted in favor of it, and IBEW voted against it. IBEW made their own bed, and now they have to sleep in it.

Thank you for your reply. As a customer spending $6.5k per month with Verizon, I think I'm entitled to ask questions about things that affect my business and my employees ability to do their work.

$15 Minimum Wage, Strike Relief Released from Senate Labor Committee

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO applauds the members of the Senate Labor Committee who today voted to advance the $15 minimum wage bill (S-15) by a vote of 3 to 0 with one abstention as well as a bill extending unemployment benefits to striking workers (S-2160) by a vote of 3 to 1. Both votes were along party lines.

We thank our affiliates and coalition partners for their supportive testimony and attendance at the hearing. Special thanks goes to Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Senator Joseph Vitale, the prime sponsors of both bills.

New Jersey is one of the highest cost of living states in the nation. It’s time to provide real relief to working families. A $15 phased-in minimum wage is a necessary measure that gives workers a fighting chance to make ends meet. Similarly, providing unemployment benefits during a strike or labor dispute is a needed safety net for workers.

The Verizon strike is a case and point. This company exemplifies the worst type of corporate greed and has given workers no choice but to strike, demanding workers to spend months away from their families and shipping good middle class New Jersey call center jobs to the Philippines, where workers make $1.70 an hour. This behavior is reprehensible, destructive to hard working families in New Jersey, and proof of the need for reform.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO recognizes our elected leaders who are working to represent the hard working families of our state. We will continue to work hand-in-hand with lawmakers and community allies to ensure the advancement and swift passage of these bills.

Now that's a CWA employee telling you off OP. Now, I ask you, is this the kind of people you want in your life, or, your business? You be the judge.
