I can see the Union asking now. Verizon is losing in this strike.

It stands to reason the Union was prepared for this Strike, The company over estimated the EWA performance, or the actual difficultly of the job. Any EWA will tell you that. and any mobile picketer will tell you that. They are are seeing it daily with there own eyes , so stop disputing it.

Now that said, The Union negotiators knows this. They know their members sacrificed alot in this Work stoppage. They will not come back with a disappointing contract, I assure you. They have the upper hand now as hard as it is to believe to some, but the strike numbers are in and it's a knockout for the Union.

Replacements trained in a "week" The EWA's have been here over a month actually doing the job after 2 weeks training, and they still cant find their butts with both hands.

5/20 is not an 'off payroll' date, it is simply an incentive date for the union to sign before some incentives are dropped. Verizon cannot lock them out without giving the union the upper hand. I think Verizon is positively going through the motions at these non binding and off the record meetings.

This is not about the Union or VZ. This is about the issue getting too close to the administration and congress. As the mud throwing approaches critical mass, Obama, Perez and team absolutely does not want any figures of payola presented to the public. That includes lobbyists, special interest, spectrum licensing fees in the billions over the years, etc. The gov does not want to be exposed in this way as it presents itself as big corp paying off the government.. This is why they brought these two imbeciles in. The plan is to pay them off, shut them up, and get everything back to nooorrrrmall. Let the spinning begin as to who won what next week...Believe what you want.

It seems the company may feel, it has the upper hand in these negotiations. The Company will not budge one inch on any of its fair bargaining proposals thus far, and now is actually removing some previous concessions from earlier proposals. Yesterday's negotiations were an exchange of both sides critical issues. The union had returned today with some concessions off their earlier demands and made the case to sign a letter to "not walk out" while negotiations on tinge. They felt they had done their part. The Company flat out rejected the offer, and returned with essentially not one iota of concessions of this contract rebuttal.

The Company now feels they have the leverage in these negotiations based on the Union's Strike plans, which they believe have proven to be one failure after another. It is well known on both sides that the work is being preformed at a high level of productivity, and Verizon has actually gained market share since this strike started over a month ago.

The Company in today's round of negotiations has stood firm on their LBFO and has given the final off payroll date of 5/20/16 unless their proposals are accepted by the Union. This strategy looks to be that the Company is keeping the high ground. The Company is capitalizing on the recent bad publicity of striking workers, and the vandalism caused by some. Many have crossed the picket lines to come ack to work and the actual numbers of those that have returned to work is staggering. That number is not only including call center employees in right to work states, but several hundred Field techs in previous strongholds such as NY & NE. Lack of the public and political support for the Unions during this time has been unparalleled.

It does make sense, I have heard that the Union will not make the same mistake they made in 2011 and the company is just getting killed in this strike.

If this is it all true, in the union is continuing to do exactly what the company wants. You must realize by now that the company does not want the union back. They don't care about the poor work being done. They will pay any price to rid themselves of the millstone around their neck which is the CWA.
