Thread regarding AT&T Inc. layoffs

Pension and Severance

Politics players and favorites who got more raises are more important than tenure. AE making 80 thousand with 10 years of tenure getting more severance pay than an AE who makes 50 thousand and has 35 years of employment.

There is no such thing as retiring from ATT when you don't meet the "rule of 75". If you don't meet the "rule of 75", you are quitting the company. And as far as the OP for this discussion, you are correct - an AE is going to get less money due to the fact that they make less money than their supervisor or people is positions higher than them - this has nothing to do with ATT. This is just business.

They cut your severance in half if you retire and weren't really eligible to. If you meet the modified rule of 75, you are eligible and don't have your severance halved.
