Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Why hasn't Verizon posted the labor secretary's comments on the company website? The union posted it.

More information that is being held back by Verizon. Keeping the employees in the dark , afraid of dissention in the EWA group? Or was it the spin they would have to endure ?

The government cannot force bargaining or a settlement. The parties were asked to resume negotiations. When this happens, the union has the opportunity to accept the last, best and final offer. The involvement of the Obama admin is election year political posturing.

@HqkAKqQ-qxk Just an information about two parties will go back to the table. That is not bargaining news. There has been no further movement on the table yet. Wait until Tuesday. Then you will have a true bargaining news.

The company saves face. They need to after the big bad Verizon propaganda. Forcing many employees outside for nothing.

See… This meeting to let the union save face is already working. The union membership are already believes they have a victory.

They did not print because it would have embarrassed the company . Showing the EWA force they were backing down. Afraid that all the EWA's were transferred, working hard and stressful and would take it as a punch in the gut. Used and Abused.

because the company doesn't need it... it's so the union can accept the LBFO, and tell it's half-wit membership that they were forced.

Many employees care. It goes to show what type of company Verizon is. If you don't care you have a right not to reply. The world doesn't revolve around you .

Bargaining news? "Uncover massive Philippines callcenter","National Day of Action",etc. Are these bargaining news? CWA post those so called news on bargaining news too. I don't think this comment is bargaining news. As long as the two parties don't go back to the table, there won't be any bargaining news for Verizon.

mja , Why? It's simple, It's bargaining news. That is why Verizon put up the site. You don't want to admit it. Its news, its bargaining, its a change. Its not what you think is important.

Only two groups of people will read company website. Union and non-union employees. Unions already knew it last night. Non-unions have been informed through news clip this morning. Why should they put this union tiny little hope on website? Nothing has been settled yet. How about wait until Tuesday dude. It is useless to study why the company didn't do it.

@HqkAKqQ-qvl, it was nationally posted by Perez. It's news that Verizon neglected to share with employees. Your spin wont change that.

Union spin is way too excited about this tiny little hope. It doesn't matter if the comment is on company's website or not. Every employee has been informed through news clips. Nothing different.

Of course the union posted it on their website. They plan to use this as the cover they need to accept the LBFO and return to work.

What a bunch of whiners. Has nothing to do with union spin. The news was from a Statement of US Labor Secretary Thomas E. Perez on the ongoing labor dispute involving Verizon workers in Washington.

The fact remains nothing on company website.

@HqkAKqQ-izp, - Poor try,

It's not posted on the "Verizon Strike Update 2016", "Company page" where the company posts strike update information, the last update was may 6 2016.

Read the post it said "website" . The union posted it on their website.

The Union is hanging on to any little tidbit of news...desperately needing positive information. EWA employees already know this might go into the summer months, so nothing matters to EWA employees until "we have a deal" is communicated.

Because the company has to spin this in a way to try and make Union look bad. They are trying to word everything in a way to make non union hate the union so they won't want to unionize when they see the union will make out here.

I think it is because it is going to be used as an out for the union to settle and save face, means nothing to VZ.
