Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

So the next offer coming from the company, will it be called " The last last best best final final offer offer"?

No new offer. Maybe slight flex on some sticking points but the union has the BAFO. This last month could have been avoided except for the idiots running the union. And if it goes on for 6 more months so much the better for the company in the long run.

Cushman Wakefield already controls the entire real estate budget other than payroll. Once they took over 90% of the 1st levels were riffed, all the 2nd levels riffed, 50% of those above were dispatched to the unemployment lines. A couple were rehired by CW for a year to train their replacements. There thinking is that 4 1st level managers can handle each state, and one director can handle 16-20 1st levels. 2nd levels are not needed. They do staff the actual workers at current VZ levels, who are union. All CW techs crossed the picket line this stoppage so they are worthless scabs and do not deserve any respect from any CWA or IBEW members.

So the company and these idiot managers issue a LBFO, and then cries/claim that the unions won't negotiate? I knew management was clueless but didn't realize they were so dilusinal.

"You can LOL all you want...they are not in the business of providing workforce that VZ would require on any level..."

That is totally false. I work with many CW (and JLL, and JCI) contractors daily and have for a few years. A good number of them are fVZ, fGTE, fBA, fMCI employees. They have been managing projects, providing building techs, etc for many of the non-critical VZ buildings. All the super critical stuff (PB1 buildings for instance) has typically remained managed and run by VZ personnel. But, even this may be changing going forward.

@xfx you think like a sheep. Just what the 1%ers want you to do. Carry water for them and do their bidding. You will never be at their table, so stop boot licking !

Personally I welcome a rif at the end of this ewa stuff. Ive grown complacent, and need my severance before I move on. The reality that most of the middle class (who live in reality) = you will work for a few different companies over the course of a lifetime, and that's OK. Life isn't about work or titles. And Big V is crazy with this credo $hit, the only goal or credo a company has is to make revenue and increase shareholder value. As an employee, the only credo is to do a good job to earn a paycheck.

"Cushman and Wakefield is going to be replacing most EWA workers so there won't be any BAU work to go back to."

Can we stop with the nonsense involving a real estate company?

Lowell over played his hand. Instead of going after the union by a thousand tiny cuts he took out the hammer. No one likes a bully especially President Obama. The Preident wields a bigger hammer than Lowell. If Lowell loses Yahoo to Buffett he will be gone in a year.

Cushman and Wakefield is going to be replacing most EWA workers so there won't be any BAU work to go back to.

Mark my words... Your going to see a change in attitude when you get back. Don't pretend not to understand what it means. You read it here..... It means your job is soon to be gone.

Our CW office is already prepared to take on a lot of new Verizon work.

No lockout. It would have happened already, Lowell doesn't go to the bargaining table so nothing will be improved on the major issues and the Company stays on its course. Sorry Union, you still won't be able to claim victory except on Sunday premium pay. LMAO.

don't forget that the federal government is a large (maybe the largest) customer of Verizon, both wireline and wireless. So it is in Verizon's best interest to get this over with or gamble with loss of contracts.

Union trolls getting all moist about swallowing the same offer that's been on the table for the last few weeks.

No lockout. Collective bargaining was emphasized in that press release. Neither side will win everything on the 2-3 major points left. I hope it is resolved soon .

I admit, I will miss this easier lifestyle - my BAU work is so much more difficult. This was so simple. So, I do agree, EWAs will be sad.

It's the last, best, double secret probation, final offer and will be toilet paper just like the previous one. The company trolls and scabs are crying in their beers tonight because the union is still here to stay.

I think could be LBFO or mediation. If union chose neither, then would be impasse.

It will be the same offer that was always on the table. Lets see what shelton does. Probably nothing like hes been doing. If you are educated enough to read between between the lines it appears the union lobbyists have pushed for the talks. Vz is is just coming to the fist fight with a gun. This is it boys and girls, we will know definitively this week whats going to happen. The union will either sign or be locked out on friday.

Stay tuned..............................

Still just 2 options on the table; LBFO or mediation. The union will take the LBFO because mediation will result in union losing big since their demands are unreasonable. Union will accept the LBFO by the end of the week.
