Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I bet the states that extend unemployment to those on strike are getting excited about that upcoming drain....

especially since they voluntarily abandoned their jobs.

Relax everyone. It's only NY unless VZ declares a lockout, which they won't

"it's for people who were layed off... not for those who abandoned their job.it's for people who were layed off... not for those who abandoned their job."

First of all, it's "laid off".

Second of all, strikes are still legal in this country and do not constitute job abandonment. While I understand that many would like to see that state of affairs changed, it's still a fact as of today.

we haven't contributed into the system? someone who has paid 26 years into unemployment cant use a service they have helped fund for others because.... it's for people who were layed off... not for those who abandoned their job.

If I was a tax payer in one of these states, I would care.

Someone quits, and wants unemployment (bad thing)
