I'd love to hear behind closed doors what Lonnie Stephenson from the IBEW really thinks about Chris Shelton from the CWA.

IBEW didn't want this strike, not even a little.

"Ummm 2000 was when bell Atlantic bought Nynex."

No. That was the year of Bell Atlantic/GTE merger. We were out for two weeks all over the board.

It was during the negotiations of 2003 that some of the Mid-Atlantic states had stayed out longer until everyone got on the same page with the contract. It sure was a weird situation, and one that should never happen again.

It was by area, CWA and IBEW NY/NE settled, but CWA in PA sated out. PA CWA was sending buses up to NYto picket and north members either sent in early or just crossed the picket line. Then word came not to cross and the people reported to an 8am shift at 6am to avoid pickets.

"I clearly remember" followed by "I think...". Which one is it?

CWA was on strike not IBEW that year for 3 weeks. In some areas IBEW members went in early to avoid pickets then stayed inside while CWA was outside picketing.

Ummm 2000 was when bell Atlantic bought Nynex. If I remember correctly IBEW settled first with a "me too" clause and went back to work. CWA stayed out. Sober up! We are still out because Verizon wants to destroy families and be dicks to us.
