The call center employees can make 700 dollars a week and this number is double the average salary of a Manila bank teller. Starting associates at Manila law firms generally make roughly $700 a month. I don't think these Filipinos need CWA's help.

The irony of all of this is that it really does not matter at all if lowell, mudge or fran are there or not. Really. None have added any value to the company at all. Rather it could certainly be argued, successfully they they are destroyers of both customer and shareholder value. But you really could put a chimp in any of those positions and it would not effect the company one bit.
Why not outsource Lowell and the rat squads jobs. Guaranteed to save millions. The Indians and Chinese could do a better job than these clowns.
Go union ,expose them for what they are, no one in the US will support this anti American company. Bad timing for VZ, why do you think Trump is so popular? Go ahead and bash the union AMERICAN worker that got you to where you are. No scab or Foreign worker will get you out where you are heading! Sickening!
People and medias talked about Apple runs 'sweatshop' factory in Asia years ago. Is there any changes today? No. The factory is still running as usual. Tons of Apple fans keep buying every new version of IPhone, IPad every year. I guarantee most of CWAers use Apple products too. If you stop buying these products, then you really help these workers in the sweatshop. Can you do that? Don't be double standard.
Could you guys read the article carefully. It is not about Verizon. It's about instead of India, Philippines has become the call center captical of the world. Yes, Verizon has call centers in Philippines, so do the other American companies. Based on the average living cost and salary in Philippines, $1.78 an hour doesn't mean it is a sweatshop.
Verizon runs sweatshop call centers in the Philippines. Staffed with armed gaurds paying their workers $1.78 per hour, next come the suicide nets. VERIZON HAS NO SHAME with THEIR RUTHLESS AND CUTTHROAT GREED, major corporations such as Verizon wants to lower the living standards of us all! Who will buy all of their crap overpriced slave made products if people don't make enough to buy any of it?
"Work-life balance is important to me," he said, noting that he was putting in too many hours before. "I just turned 50. Health is my primary concern.". If only Vz would understand that is exactly why we are out. Verizon destroys their workers quality of life.
I bet they still "love you no sh^t Joe"; "you buy me one drink and I'll take off my clothes."
