me too...i need the OT. i been taking it and loving it. called strike and was totally shocked. didnt think we had it in us to strike. now it seems we are so week we have bargaining updates every monday and nothing new comes of it, oh wait...we are getting yard signs. she, almost forgot that one. anyways, i would like to vote on this contract. no its not the best, but sure beats what other jobs are out there. and i am union member.

happy with the OT. i want the money. i'm not alone on this in my garage. i'll take the 7.5% also. our union leaders have made so many mistakes along the way. i don't believe for a second the garbage that trainor and mooney aren't taking their pay while we're on strike. no friggin' way they had their health insurance turned off either. shelton needs to let us vote on the last best final offer. what are they afraid of?
so many lies on this board. im a union member and have seen it the first weekend "secret, high level discussion in philly...back to work on monday" or, at least once a week you see posted "wrapping it up, hold up is...Mid Atlantic or VZW" allllllll lies. you can't trust anyone or anything posted in this board. and to be honest, i dont trust the union or company. im flabbergasted we didn't take mediation and now blown away with no talks at table but we are ramping up our efforts to make yard signs. feel like my 16 year career at once dependable phone co has been tossed down the toilet.
I would be surprised to see the Union back next week or anytime soon, if at all. Verizon has done no posturing at all or made any 'idle threats'. They have declared LBFO and are hiring temp people with 3 months guaranteed work. If Union does come back I can't help but to think they have lost all they went out on strike for.
The company seem intent on letting the Union know that they ( the Union ) will no longer have much say in the managerial direction of the company. In short, the company expects to be able to move, RIF, offer packages as they need to and not be bothered by the Union over the matter. The Union needs to limit its bargaining to wages, benefits, equal treatment, promotions. Any item past that is managerial or should be legislated.
If the Union does not like jobs going overseas then they probably should have been at the door of Congress years ago instead of using jobs going overseas as one of the reasons to call a strike.
Hire, the replacements in better than stupid, Sh1t for brain, terrorist called union members.

Nope. Not happening. This will be over in August when the "temps" are in place, the EWAs all go home, and it's back to business as usual at Verizon, minus the CWA of course.

Hasn't been a real bargaining update in weeks. Just political stunts like yard signs and discovery of the secret international call center that the whole world has known about for years.
I think someone is giving the Union false hope, I don't see this ending anytime soon.
