Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

So many people acting like they are so tough, big, and bad, when they are really softer than wet toilet tissue paper.

Stand up for what you believe is best for you and your family. I'm not the judge or jury and neither are you. It's a choice for every person to cross or not. I respect everyone's decision whether they continue to strike or not. No one knows what people are truly going through in their lives. Some that have crossed spent time on the line with you and gave you what they could and had in support. The decision to cross was not easy for many as well. To you that would disown or dissolve whatever friendship or relationship you had with a person because of a choice that they made, what was the foundation of your friendship from the start. Did you really and truly ever have one? Some will agree, some won't, and that's understandable, but as I close and this goes both ways watch the bridges you burn and teardown because of a person's choice as you never know when you will need to cross them again in your life. The person you may decide to treat differently may end up being the one you need. Peace

Mike moore, is a hypocrite.

Think about how much money he has.

Has he given it away?

No wants it for himself.

He is the exact presentation of of an liberal elite.

I want mine, everyone else, must give it up.

Perfect post. Ty.

I would much rather have my EWA husband home instead of making the overtime he has made. It is blood money. One thing this strike has done is that mgmt is now seeing first hand the piss poor treatment that goes on in some shops and that has caused mindsets to be changed. I pray this ends soon for everyone's sake. However I also think Vz is going to do everything they can to break the union.

If the membership gets crushed in this "Victory", it will severley weaken the Union going forward. What exactly happens when people reach the breaking point?

Once again the union will say"The operation was a success ! Even though the patient died."

Watched Michael Moore's movie "Where Do We Invade Next". It is a documentary about how other society's treat their middle class and the relationships between labor and management. I must say, they all are thriving off of things that were American ideas originally, especially Germany and Italy. When he interviewed the CEO's of major corporations, their views on labor were 180 degrees out of phase with the way American company CEO's. The biggest takeaway I have from watching this is the CEO's of the foreign corporations value the labor force and they are not just another commodity. Secondly, they don't view profits the same as American CEO's. The level of greed or the lack there of is the biggest difference.

True indeed the hurt is on both sides...ewa being away from their homes and family...working many days and long hours...but the catch there is that they are still making money and have all their benefits...as for the union striker it hurts even more as the zero checks start to add up no benefits and savings decrease...there is compassion for both sides but bargaining and negotiating at the expense of the union worker when dues are paid weekly could this truly have been done another way with the union workers still working, as the union called the strike walked out etc not verizon hate them or love them verizon doesn't want this contract or not...money or no money this is uncomfortable for all

Its a bad time in america for holfdng jobs in general.all big companies in america ...bottom line is how much more they can make each quarter to beat wall street estimate per share ..even if they make a profit and it doesnt beat wall streets estimate they think of it as a loss..then they cut jobs , lower level manegement etc .or cut operations...that is the way all companies in america are today...the greed of wealth for the few1 pct .why do think that banks like when you are in debt , credit cards, they give you mortgage s that you cant handle..bottom line the few that run this country want everyone dumb and poor..like a monarchy. ..and all these politicians are just puppets. .they dont give 2 sh--s about you ot me .just themselves and their friends..nafta, ttp, obamacare , taff Siegel act..QE1,2,3...the b.s of big pharma, oil companies, the medical industry. .etc...soon foreign countries will own all in the u.s.a.they already have been buying all the comercial real estate in this country.now be a good serf and go back to work. ....union and non union cause you all are in the same boat thats sinking fast
