The negative things that have occurred because of this strike far out way the positive even if the union wins will it rebuild families devastated by this will it bring back the dead I think not ,shelton and madam will continue living good lives while those who trusted them will be destroyed how is this fair .before anyone talks b.s. I am union and haven't crossed line ,my faith in the union and verizon is gone .

Seems like the scabs are angry and want the workers to come back must be tough to have to earn your salary instead of kissing your bosses a$$ for it don't worry they'll relieve you soon

As stated before, to its management this is a career not a job. I don't owe the company my work just like it doesn't owe me work. I'm with verizon until something better comes along. After my national Guard deployment this summer I'm going to be looking towards the defender sector. Best way to get raises is to jump companies and negotiate for 10%+.

Months away from family- contract states you will be home every night commute distance only
Pension- good up to 30 years with 3 1% increases. 401k is unchanged. No one else gets both so congrats for that
Cutting into your paycheck.- we are all paying higher healthcare costs Obamacare did nothing to fix it. This is a nationwide problem not a VZ ploy to take your cash
Sending work offshore- its been happenning for a decade and with new technologies it makes call centers and brick and mortar buildings for them obsolete. Fight it all you want days of going into the office for remote work will be gone in the next generation.
The only people I think deserve better are the field guys. Thats it if you work in an office you dont have anything on them. They are the heroes on the wireline side.
Think for yourself not let some union big wig tell you whats fair.

Maybe you dont have a family but I do. I dont want to be sent to another state to work for months away from my family. I dont want to see ALL I worked for, my penaion, my benefits, my retirement for the past 29 years go away l By the time VZ keeps cutting into our paychecks to ads to theirs, the $$ they claim we are making will ne half that. Paying upto $600 a month for "benefits" and increased co-pays is not fair. Sending work shore to pay them $4.00 an hour is not fair. So before you go to claim a that you know that what Verizon offers is fair, do you research
This difference is that to a Union person this is a job, to a Non-Union person this is a career.
Different mindset, and long term planning.
You can blame union and company leaders all you want. But people who don't realize that each of us are responsible for our own lives will always end up being misused by others. I'm an EWA. I freely choose to work 12x7 every day until I've had enough, then I'll move on. Work is work. A job's just a job. Not worth bankruptcy, suicide, divorce, depression, or anything of the sort.
True - don't let todays definition of a union keep you from the things that are real in life. (it's not wering a red T shirt and telling peopple how bad you have it) - You have it pretty darn good. Remember that this is 2016 not 1976. The offer is reasonable and far with job security. Mediation would have ended with less of an offer. Good luck
