Union bosses keep drawing salary checks, VZ corporate whores keep drawing a salary, McAdam voted back in w/97% showing significant approval of current strategy to get rid of union, union members enjoying time off, EWA enjoying big checks before the next RIF, contractors getting hired by the thousands to make rediculous money for the 1st time since they were squeezed out of the shrinking wireline industry, Filipino, Mexican, and Indian workers have secure employment with competitive wages. So you would give up your career and livelihood for the union. Amazing. They really do have you guys brainwashed. It's like the omerta' code of the mafiosi. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the world doesn't revolve around the union or your brotherhood. But you guys will never listen, it's too ingrained into you. We on the outside see it for the ridiculousness of following a corrupt organization to the ends of the earth. I realize you guys have a need to belong and want to stand for something. At some point enough is enough.
I am a Union member. I wouldn't condone a Union member crossing the picket line (I wouldn't) but I wouldn't call someone that did a low life either.
Things would definitely be frosty for that member but you don't know what kind of a life situation they were in before the strike. And not all Unions have strike funds to support their members.

Hey qjw. In all seriousness, and I am not trying to start an argument, but why? If you support the strike, then I can understand your sentiment, but there are many of us that do not feel that walking out was either the right thing to do or that is was not the right time to do so. I know full well from 1st hand experience the torment associated with the QAR's and forced OT, but they were going on long before the contract negotiations started back last June. I was still perfectly willing to continue to work while the negotiations continued in order to take care of my family. I also know of many that either have life issues, where saving up for an extended strike was not possible, and also for others that ot was not overly available, so their savings were not sufficient. So back to my original question, why would it be the lowest form of life to cross if you do not believe in the course the union leaders are taking? If it is a choice of feeding my children or not because of something Someone else decided and I am not entirely behind either,hen it is not much of a choice at all. To me it is akin to what the EWA's that do not want to be here are being forced into, except that they are being compensated in their struggle, making that pill at least somewhat tolerable.
I'm a union member. I do not think I am winning. Still wouldn't cross a picket line. Any person hired into a union shop who crosses is the lowest form of life on earth.
