Company is in this for the long haul. i.e.: the billions of profits they make each quarter means they have cash. Yes, they have debt, but smart debt. Just because a company holds a sh*t ton of debt doesn't mean they're struggling.

Company wants to get rid of both the Union and Wireline. That's old news. Current news is, they have the resources to do it, and the strike gave them the opportune time.

They'll stand firm until 2099, when we are all gone.

I don't feel for the union. But I do feel for the Union's spouses and children.

Honestly, there is nowhere for the union to go from here. Company has planned this for years ... With 20 different phases. They are only at number 2 right now.

Open your eyes, Union. Please. For the love of your families. It's not going to get any better.

They said the same crap in 1989. Didn't work then, won't work now.

we are all bodies.... we are all subject to cost/benefit analysis... In ALL companies. anyone who believes otherwise, or thinks they can make a company think and act otherwise is foolish. the union is only one more obstacle in removing assets that fail the cost/benefit analysis. all Verizon is doing now is trying to remove one obstacle preventing them from running the business efficiently.

Yes OP, I also agree with you. And, I to share your sympathy for the families of those that are going to be affected. The big bad corporation is going to win this one. It may take another week, month, year (or even longer if this gets tied up in the courts). I seriously dont think the company is going to give. Now, theyd PREFER it is resolved sooner rather than later (as this is the less expensive approach), but they are prepared financially for it to go on a very long time. Hopefully not until 2099 as youve stated!

I love Comcast. They have better service then VZ does - wish they offered cell phones. Larry the cable guy has come a long way. Remember him - vintage 1990"s. Now its Larry the FiOS guy.

A hatred for Verizon will carry over to all services. We have customers on dsl because they can't stand Comcast. We will be the new Comcast.
