A cost cutting strategy that was never mentioned in negotiations. "Effective immediately and ongoing until further notice overtime will only be authorized as needed in response to emergency restorations."

Something to do with the contractors work being extended indefinitely.

@XGN- yes, that’s right no more OT ever… unless an emergency is called. Let’s think what the implications are, shall we… Vz might hire a boatload of expensive, ornery union members to take up the slack. I doubt it though. More likely one of the following two things will happen… Either, every light shower will be declared an emergency, oooorrrrrr… there’s verbiage in the contract that allows Vz to supplement the union workforce with temporary contractors. Considering the contractors are probably cheaper, I bet on that possibility. Looking even further down the road… let the union shrink due to attrition, and backfill with contractors.

Everyone is not required to work 12x6.

I have not had any additional work added to my duties (as of today)

Of course, my EWA is own job,

I would like to see this strike end, and the union accept a fair deal.

Do not harass the EWA'ers, they do not have a choice, if they do not show up, they are fired.

You can come back when this is all over, the EWA'rs can not.

GLTA.

This would be awesome... Only thing better would be to return to my BAU job. I do not think loss of family time is worth the overtime $$.

I saw this as well. This is one of the first BAU mandates. It starts area by area as soon as they have enough contractors in place and applies only to core associates.

Your post makes no sense. Everyone is forced 12 hour days until further notice
