That's what the majority of the comments on this board advocate. We all know the 2 unions represented here, and most of us are aware of the other major us-based unions: Auto workers, teachers.
Some of us are also aware of the lesser thought of unions: Airline Pilots (who get the EWA's to there assignments), Service Employees (taking care of EWA's hotel rooms), AFSCME (state and below government), FOP (people keeping EWA's & Strikers safe).
Oh and when all this US vs THEM get's old and we want to escape, there's unions for that: Trucking, Retail & Warehouse (to bring us liquor and snacks, Yum!).
Then there's the Screen actors & writers (for our entertainment),
Major League Baseball Players Association, Major League Soccer Players Union, National Football League Players Association, National Hockey League Players Association, National Basketball Players Association (because, HEY! we need a reason to consume all that liquor and snacks, Right?!).
Yes, unions are all around us and those who say "LET'S GET RID OF ALL UNIONS!", perhaps we should start with the 2 MOST influential, the one that cares for corporations & the wealthy, you've heard of them, or maybe their nicknames Cotus & Potus. Yes, that's right The Congress of the United States and The Presidency of the United States!!! Didn't know that the Government of the United States was a union??? Well let's think about it:
-
A group of individuals band together (corporations, the wealthy)
-
Are forced to join the organization (via a thing called Laws)
-
Are forced to pay dues (via hiring lobbyists and making campaign contributions)
-
All to secure outcomes in favor of said individuals (tax-breaks/legislation like NAFTA/Immunity from prosecution/limited liability for court judgments for wrong-doing)
OH!!!!
- There's even money set aside for the bad times, it's not called a strike fund, it's called a BAILOUT (remember 2 Big 2 Fail!).
And to think of it there's also special treatment: When was the last time ANY ordinary citizen was invited to spend the night in the Lincoln Bedroom or with just one phone call, get put on a Senator's or the President's agenda just like that?
No, I think in that case, ordinary citizens are treated like... well... SCABS!!!
