Glad they are doing reassignment a to get people closer to their home locations. That alone will reduce stress on EWA staff. Especially since they have several months of this.

and when the union comes back with a contract you guys will be saying holy sh--..the same feeling the managers had in 1989 when the company caved

Union still in denial. The union is going. The question is how many are going down with it.

Just a note,

A lot of the so called mangers, do not manage anyone.

Lawyers, IT, HR, etc.

No one to manage for them.

Even, if there are non-union workers, they will still need to be managed.

That being said, yup, there will be a RIF.

no panic at all brother. I've known for a long time eventually I would have to find a new job. I'm waiting to hear if I get unemployment. if I get that I will wait this out and take a package and leave on my own terms. if we get denied then I'm forced to start looking for another job a little bit earlier then I expected, but I'm not a "lazy union" worker and will land on my feet as I'm sure a lot of other "lazy union" workers will to. glad to hear you got degrees and certificates hope that comes in handy for the future. you will need them eventually.

@srt I think a lot of union folks don't grasp is that vz mgmt know the reality of RIF. Management personnel doesn't constitute direct reports. Get it. I've put in a lot time at Vz and obtained experience, degrees and certifications on their dime. A lot of us are not worried just like you guys. we have skills and experience that translate well. we are all different markets with their pool of oppurtunities.

Screaming RIF is laughable. If you are out there acting a fool you probably notice the smirks.

not worried about. believe it or not there is life after Verizon. I'm just hoping to go back so I can take the next package. make those fools pay me to leave, but I'm good if we don't go back.
