So you fear your union brothers. What a healthy relationship. Sounds a lot like those poor ladies stuck in abusive relationships. Don't we advise them to get out of it as fast as possible?
Wait, are you saying the company should create a company controlled union? Pretty sure that isn't legal.
Define your own job security by being the best with skill set that many companies want. Good work ethic and continued education in job area.
