I will give it till Friday and that's it I will cross the line the union gives no good updates we are kept in the dark I know a lot of rah rah union workers will talk s,,t but how long do you go until your broke and have nothing over a month is way to long bs

This is exactly what happens when the membership votes (through coercion of course) to give the Union the right to strike.Question........How's it working out for everyone and their families?Watch out for the Trolls who act like things are great for them.Those few are just running up their credit cards to look good to everyone else.
I would never cross a picket line but don't want to assume Verizon is the only game in time, if you have other skills explore your options it doesn't hurt and maybe you will find a company that values you. I am tired of every couple of years being threatened with my future in negoiations, then every couple of weeks a different guy is going into a meeting to get suspended, enough is enough, the money and benefits are great but not everything.
I have expressed same sentiment in multiple posts...workers need to get back to work, your allowing them to be pushed out and eventually replaced. They have families to feed and bills to pay. Ok, we made it through a month but moving forward those with kids and maybe a non-working spouse are going to drown. These workers can't just cross w/o risking physical, mental and psychiatric abuse by their own union comrades. Get these workers back on the job. I am tired of hearing that Joe Blow's wife got new tots, John Doe bought a Benz and Jeff Smith is taking his family to Jamaica for a vaction that I basically funded.
Because the money ain't everything, ever wonder what it is like going into a job that doesn't constantly harass you and suspend you? It depends how far along you are, if you have 25 years or even 20 you stay if you have 5 or 10 leave, the union hasn't supported the young guys so no one thinks Verizon in wireline will be here in 20 years so get out before 38000 other people looking for same jobs, just a thought.
Phi - I don't understand why someone makes it worse on themselves by taking a job for less money simply to make a point against the company. That's the very definition of letting them win.
For me, I'm not a pos backstabber, so instead of crossing, I am lining up other job opportunities that will be better for me and my family in the long run. Even before the strike, I was contemplating leaving, but due to the company execs blatant stupidity, obscene greed and then the subsequential strike, it forced my hand to look elsewhere. I won't be back whether the strike ends or not. I am also prepared to take a paycut, so no big deal.
I don't think any talks are even going on. If you are planning to cross, sooner is probably better. Unless you know of talks I haven't heard about. Good luck to you either way, it's a tough call to make.
