Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Can anyone explain how this works?

Of my nine guys two crossed day one. Three more have been replaced so I only need four more. If the strike ends with a contract do the two that crossed get to stay or does it go by overall seniority? The replacements are permanent and I should get three more by the end of this week. If I get more crossers after next week and turn them away as replaced, are they eligible for unemployment in our right to work state?

Definitely guy who crossed first. Think about incentives.

I'm a Verizon Manager, and i need some anonymous person on this board to explain to me how this works.

So, I had of my 26 guys, 14 cross day one, then on the first Monday i had 9 more cross, So I had just one more guy to get cross. He was the President of the Locals son. And he crossed on that Tuesday.

Now my dilemma here is should i give the guys that crossed first preferential treatment for crossing first or do take care of the presidents son?

Thank you all for figuring this out for me as i could never figure this out all by myself.

"This isn't like the previous strikes, as you will soon discover. "

Oh we discovered it back in 2011. That's why we went out ready and willing to fight instead of allowing VZ to swat us like flies, one by one.

"Lowell has no tolerance for this nonsense."

Well, I'm sure he's already lining up another job someplace else. VZ's workforce will outlast its current CEO, albeit not without a price.

So many union guys are in for a rude awakening when this is all over. This isn't like the previous strikes, as you will soon discover. Lowell has no tolerance for this nonsense.

You are full of sh--. The company did not hire permanent replacements. What is wrong with you people. Why come here and lie everyday? Get a life.

HR says seniority including the replacements, but that's only if and after a contract is signed.
